May 04, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- South Sudan’s Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission(JMEC) and the United Nations Mission in South Sudan(UNMISS) refuse to recognize the 28 controversial states decreed by Salva Kiir in early October 2015.

The peace monitors announced on Wednesday, yesterday, that they do not recognize the controversial states created without proper consultations by president Salva Kiir.

According to Ellen Margrethe Løj, the Special Representative and head of UNMISS, the world body only recognizes the ten original states of South Sudan.

On behave of UNMISS and peace mission in South Sudan, Løj said UN observes and standby IGAD-Plus communique of January 31, 2016 which calls for Mr. Kiir and his government to put the controversial idea on hold until further notice

“On the 28 states, as you all know, the IGAD Heads of State in a communique adopted on the 31st of January urged the transitional government immediately after its establishment to solve the issue of the 28 states and if they couldn’t to establish a boundary commission. Now the transitional government have been established and we expect the transitional government urgently to address the issue of the 28 states.” said Ellen Margrethe Løj, the Special Representative and head of UNMISS.

The world body is concern that the 28 states sparked border conflicts and other challenges that the young nation may not be ready for.

“It’s very clear that there are challenges around the country in relation to how the borders have been drawn in the 28 states proposal, and that has led to ethnic tensions in many parts of the country.”Løj adds.

To avoid conflict with Kiir’s government, Løj said the peace monitors would still cooperate with the new governors to get things done on the ground, however, she insists that UNMISS and JMEC will allocate resources according to the 10 original states.

“If we’re out there operating in a state that has a new governor in place, then our teams of course have to coordinate maybe with that governor, and that governor’s office, however, the position remains that the ten states is what we recognize and we that don’t encourage any further implementation of the 28 states.” Margaret Loej.

28 states are gone case because our people have been let down for years by the three big Regions of Southern Sudan. We will not accept to go back to 10 states anymore unless through referendum and i am sure we will 28 states. That is politics about ,they have refuse now to recognize ,but in the end they will our recognize our 28 States. Our people have been left behind and that need to change.Long live 28 States and Long live the people of South Sudan.

There is no need to rush or worry because they will recognize our 28 states in future. i am sure they will accept. The recognition of South Sudan to become a country was not easy too.

if Salva Kiir still not to respect the peace which has been signed by him and designate Dr .Machar last year due to creation of 28 states which remain to cause another war if the president is not revoking them peace will not be in its position I agree with UN OFFICIAL WHO QUOTE THAT OR WHO DID NOT RECOGNIZE THOSE TRIBAL STATES

Løj aught to be kicked out of South Sudan. She has no jurisdiction over South Sudan, the president and his people. A referendum should be held to see if majority of the population need 28 states or don’t want them.

the creation of 28 states has caused more harm than good, simply because the vision of our late garang has been miss quoted and not well implemented in the 10 states.

To vote for referendum on regards to 28 states is a mockery of high order to south Sudanese citizen ,when the country has run bankrupt and high inflation rate ,high influx of the citizen to neighboring country due to hunger, is this the reason to as how our brothers in the system join the east African community block because they can not feed it self? however we know that most of our south Sudanese have read books to certain extend and claims to know politics but my brothers being an intellectual is not a serious thing and never has been , its an instrument on which one plays that is all, hence the only serious form of intellect i know is the British intellect and on the British intellect the illiterate plays the drum therefore for that matter let the state be develop on the colonial British map of the all district if peace to be attain fully in the new republic of south Sudan and see citizen will embark on development without fear or fevour thanks.

hahahahahahahahaha…………………………..
I told you long ago that you need not to swallow your trible states via your toothless mouth but we will force these 28 evil states through your weak paralised and muscleless anus. Tell me who is proved to be right. Just wait more and more reforms and changes are on the way where FEDERAL RULE is NUMBER ONE.

DINGIT+Taban,
Empty excitement cannot bring for you anything good than disappointment at the end of game.
Your peace guarantors whom you heavily rely on them have no supreme authority to determine our internal affairs.
Be warned! American’s trustful dogs will not and shall never have a say here in Juba.
The 28 states are no longer reversal till Jesus returns for final judgment.
