April 05, 2014 (ADDIS ABABA) – Sacked South Sudanese vice president Riek Machar has called on President Salva Kiir to stop the fighting and engage in dialogue with a view to resolving the conflict in the war-torn country.
In an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency, Machar accused Uganda of aiding Kiir’s forces and waging a war on the people of South Sudan.
He also criticized a recent decision by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), an East African trade bloc, to deploy a military force in the country, warning that such a move could worsen South Sudan’s already tense situation.
