Assassination Attempt on Top Rebel Commander and Spiritual Leader Foiled

June 05, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — According to Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, South Sudan government attempts to assassinate the pillars of the armed opposition, SPLM/A. Among the top targets are the military governors for SPLM/A, who are currently commanding forces in the their respective states.

The plan is being spearheaded by familiar faces that have been accused, in the recent months, of malicious practices within Juba and also in Eastern Africa region.

Brig. Gen Lul has also revealed a surveillance on none governmental chartered planes within their control zones. The opposition strongly urge the listed plane companies to desist any practices that would compromise their neutrality and further operations.

Kiir’s attempts to assassinate SPLA in Opposition top commander for Jonglei State Front, Maj.Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual and White Army’s Spiritual Leader David Dak Kueth had been successfully foiled by movement’s National Intelligence, Combat Intelligence and Military Intelligence operatives. The government sponsored assassin had been arrested, two pistols (Silencers) had been recovered.

The overall government’s plan is to eliminate top rebel political and military leadership. Assassin’s government drawn hit list included:
1. Maj. Gen. Peter Gatdet, Military Governor for Unity State
2. Maj. Gen. Gabriel Tangiye, Military Commander for Upper Nile State
3. Maj. Gen. Gathoth Gatkuoth, Military Governor for Upper Nile State
4. Maj. Gen. James Koang Chuol, former Military Governor for Unity State and
5. Maj. Gen. Gabriel Duop Lam, Military Governor for Jonglei State

In the last two weeks, our intelligence operatives had been monitoring unusual and unauthorized movement of planes. Kiir’s Intelligence chartered plane with Reg. N0. 5Y SAV Tiger (Air Works K/LTD) Tourism and Travel had been impounded. The plane’s Pilot Mr. Philip Kipkoech Murgor is in custody.

Preliminary investigations have revealed direct involvement of Kiir( actually met in person with the would be assassin and other pointmen) and security organs, Greater Lou-Nuer and Greater Fangak leaderships under overall guidance of Dr. Marial Bajamin, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Riek Gai Kok, Minister of Health, Rachel Nyadak Paul, Deputy Minister of Broadcasting, Maj. Gen. Thomas Duoth Guet, Director General for General Intelligence Bureau (National Security Service ) and Lt. Col. Majok Gatluak Thoa, Director of Eastern Equatoria State( Internal Security Service of National Security Service). More information will be revealed once investigations are completed.

The Military Leadership takes this opportunity to strongly warn Plane Companies still in business with Kiir’s regime to desist from taking unauthorized chartered flights to all territories under our control since some of these dangerous ventures could be fatal.
