June 10, 2014(Addis Ababa/London) — Various highly reliable sources in Addis Ababa have confirmed that a deal is imminent between Salva Kiir and a number of the SPLM former detainees.
The former detainees represented by Pagan Amum, Deng Alor, John Luk and Kosti Manibe, met Salva Kiir last night in Radisson Hotel, Addis Ababa. The meeting went late up to after mid-night where the two parties agreed to meet again tonight.
The meeting scheduled for tonight is to finalize the agreement reached and will be limited only to Pagan Amum and Deng Alor on one side, and Salva Kiir on the other. The agreement includes the following:
- The former detainees shall be rehabilitated into the SPLM leadership with Pagan Amum being reinstated as the Secretary General and the rest appointed into the Cabinet,
- Dismissal of General Malong Awan, Michael Makuei, Telar Ring Deng, Aleu Ayieny, among others; people the former detainees identified as the source or promoters of the current rift within the SPLM family,
- The former detainees will travel to Juba as soon as Salva Kiir carries out the above.
The agreement is sponsored by some foreign quarters which have assured Salva Kiir of assistance and to break his international isolation should he concludes the deal. They have also given assurances for the safety of the former detainees in Juba. One other objective of the deal is to isolate Riek Machar and deny him political support in the forthcoming Addis Ababa Peace Talks expected to kick off on Thursday.
It is clear that Salva Kiir does not trust any of his colleagues in his negotiating team nor the delegation that went with him to Ethiopia, and therefore he is alone on the government’s side.

Not, no any other foreign that can advise President Kiir to remove the active official in the government position.If G11 demanding for that they should stay there in exile so-long the already got worthless.We don’t need more good-for-nothing if President Kiir accept it, make sure it can bear the same conflict.With my comment the world identify G11 because they don’t need South Sudan to be in good situation.
