Feb 7, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — One of the three officials, who were detained in Ayod county for landing at Jiech airstrip without prior communication with the commanding field officers of SPLM/SPLA [IO] has given his testimony about the incident.

Mr. Mading Akueth, who works for Lutheran World Federation, attests that his once in a lifetime experience has changed his all perception about the people and the conflict in South Sudan.

According to his interview on SBS Dinka radio, Mading thanks all those who contributed to their release, however, his special appreciation goes to the women of Ayod county, the Military governor, Maj. Gen. Duop Lam and Dr. Riek Machar for the special treatment that the trio had hardly expected.

Below is an excerpt of his testimony —

“During the crisis I was having my opinion on former SPLM officials of G10 especially Dr Majak Agot but during our custody I realised why you have to love your people despite having different opinions. Dr Majak was there for us; he calls almost after every hour just to ask how we are and whether we were being looked after. The Government, SPLM in O and individuals played a roles but Dr Majak was there.”

“In terms of care; we were well fed and soldiers carried our water for the 12 hours journey that we took from Jiech. During the times of our departure to Juba; Governor Duop Lam made for us a great farewell. They slaughtered a goat for us and we ate good meal before our departure to Juba. He also came to the airport to see the plane taking off and we then wave at them.”

“I will not go without saying thanks to the Ayod women because these women did an amazing job to protect us. Few women came to make sure that we were safe. They were Mary, Ayen, Nyabel and others who came around us during the night. They needed to protect us.”

“One of them knew my humanitarian work back in Bor and she told us, “if you were born by women then none of you will die here but you will go back as free people.” Their heroism did change our perceptions and such appreciation will have to go to them. I am a different Mading now and I know our people love themselves and they need peace.” —– Mading Akueth speaking on SBS Dinka Radio

Many Thanks Mading for being a new person, teach those thug in Juba to understand that Nuer are looking for democratic changes not tribal killing or power Hungary like Kiir and Wani. I love Majak Agot all his decision are always wise he will be great leader one day. Kuol Manyang and Makuey Lueth are just money lover people who don’t care about their people. Now imagine Mark Diang your college feeling if he heard that Nuer released you and Dinka are still keeping him under torturing?

I hope Buay Malek could read this article and my comment down here. How are you feeling now when Dinka said they changes from previous ideology that Nuer kill every Dinka. You gone as far as saying Nuer are terrorist but now who is terrorist? If you are there doing good things for all people, why you never condemn abduction for Mark Diang? Gebrial Yien Gach and his colleges were killed by Maban Defense force and Mark Diang and Thachar were killed by Chuluk Defense force as you can complain that they are not government. If that is the case then who control Malakal and Maban Militia or Government? If Militia why you claim the victory? and if it is government how come militia killed UN workers under government control? Now Johnson Olony and Mun pan are there with you in Juba why don’t they tell you where these guys are? I call international body to declare Juba faction as terrorist and failed government. Last time we have white army and SPLA-IO fighting a long side but now it is pure SPLA-IO which will be National Army during transitional period while all different militia under kiir leadership will be integrated i.e Gwelweng, Dutkubeny of Dinka (Paul Malong), Equotorian defense Force of Wani Konga, Murlee Defense Force of David Yaw Yaw, Nuer Defense force of Bapiny Minytuel, Chuluk Defense force of Johnson Olony, Dinka Defense Force of Dinka (Dhiew Daw of Melut and Renk), Dinka Defense Force (Mabek of pareang County) and Maban Defense Force (Mun Pan of Maban). All foreign force will leave South Sudan before interim period like GEM, UPDF, M 23 and SPLA-N

Buay should just enjoy his blood money in silence rather than wedging himself further against his own community. He can be effective on the government side by toning down his tribal rhetoric now that he is in with the looters. I simply see no need for him to attack anyone base on their tribal affiliations to Nuers. Such attitude only confirms & also contradicts the claims that Nuers were & are not being targeted by government officials & militias alike. He should leave that to those idiots who feel the need to chew on Kiir’s side of the false story of that coup Kiir claimed happened but actually never happened. My advice is that he can start to conduct himself like most officials that have standard of dignity because we all know that at the end of the day, its all about the money that one pockets for her or himself. The karma that comes along with such money is merciless regardless of how one dodges it.Many have looted by fooling Kiir but when the smoke clears some will stand out so far Buay is one of those foolish looters who will be later on hunted down like a dog with an infectious disease.

By pastor, Paulino Choul Youl

Genuine point:
Once upon a time, one of the minister, I don’t want to mention his name.

He asked me this question; and said to me, hey, pastor, if you become a president of South Sudan! What’s your goals to be implement in the Country?

My answer was very simple and short.
First of all, if I become a president, I have to make my fellow Citizens men and women, to lives as a kings and queens, why?

Because we have a tremendously natural resources in our Country.

Secondly, I have to have accountability system, security professional to protects the citizen, service delivery, human development and develop the country as well.

Those are my goals if I become a president, or a minister, in the Government institution.

And than, he kept silent with no comment to my objectives…
