Central Equatoria Eastern Equatoria State Greater Equatoria Press Release South Sudan

Stop The Killing of Innocent Civilians In Greater Equatoria Region.

FROM EQUATORIAN LEADERS IN DIASPORA

23 may 2010 – Western Equatoria State, South Sudan – People displaced by the LRA attacks. The LRA has attacked a number of roads, villages, and clinics near the town of Tambora over the last week pushing thousands of people to flee to Tambora for protection. Western Equatoria state has been rocked by LRA activities since 2006. Thousands of people have been forced from their homes as brutal attacks continue against the civilian population in the region and neighboring DRC and CAR. Photo credit: Benedicte Desrus

Sept 30, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — We, the Equatorian Leaders in Diaspora (United States of America, Australia, Canada, and United Kingdom), are dismayed and appalled by the renewed hostilities and indiscriminate killing of civilians by Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS) in Greater Equatoria Region (GER) despite the signing of the Compromise Peace Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan. Recent escalation of the war in Central Equatoria State (CES) and Western Equatoria State (WES), where innocent civilians were massacred and displaced, is a deliberate breach of the peace accord signed between the warring parties.

Reports from Wonduruba, Kitigiri, Mundri, Jambo, and Lui indicated that between 12th and 16th September 2015, GRSS decided to launch a unilateral military offensive in these areas. As a result of these operations, many innocent civilians were massacred in cold blood with thousands displaced and the rest scattered in bushes/forests in fear of their lives. These egregious attacks have caused untold suffering and an unfolding humanitarian disaster in CES and WES. A similar incident has recently also happened in Magwi County. We condemn these senseless and heinous military actions against unarmed and defenceless civilians in the strongest terms possible.

We hold no one other than the President Salva Kiir Mayardiit who is the Commander-in-Chief of South Sudan Defence Force; and General Paul Malong, the Chief of General Staff of South Sudan Defence Force, to be responsible for atrocities that resulted in the deaths of Equatorians. By virtue of their military portfolios, these principal military officers are responsible for planning and execution of any military operations across the country. Hence, they are accountable and responsible for the loss of the innocent lives in the region. It is lamentable and unbelievable that the Kiir regime still holds the false notion that the ongoing conflict engulfing the country can be resolved militarily.

As the military offensive continues in WES and CES targeting mainly civilians, we urge IGAD plus, AU, UN and other agencies involved with the monitoring of the recently signed Compromise Peace Agreement (CPA) to intervene and take tough actions against those responsible for dishonouring the Ceasefire Agreement. We urge UN agencies, human rights groups and other humanitarian agencies to investigate human rights abuses against civilians. In addition, we request humanitarian assistance to the survivors and Internally Displaced People (IDPs). We also urge the CPA-2 monitoring agencies to investigate human rights abuses, war crime violations, and crimes against humanity in GER.

As equally affected by the killing of our law-abiding citizens in Equatoria, we urge all Equatorian Caucuses/Members of Parliament (MPs) in both Houses of Parliament (the National Legislative Assembly and the Council of States) to intervene and condemn such heinous acts against our people. Likewise, we call upon the respective State Governments in Central, Eastern and Western Equatoria States to swiftly take firm measures to stop these unjustified and unnecessary military operations against defenceless civilians in the region.

The recent incidents in Central Equatoria (Wonduruba, Kitigiri, Mundri, Jambo and Lui), Western Equatoria (Yambio and Maridi), and Eastern Equatoria (Pageri) show that the government is not seriously committed to CPA. As such we appeal to the international community to do all it can to ensure the government complies with the peace agreement.

The incidents above highlight the need for Federalism and restructuring of the security sector in South Sudan where each region is responsible for recruiting its security forces, including the army and managing its own affairs. This will minimize the level of human right abuses currently observed in the country.

THANK YOU

Kind regards,

Thanks alot for this Call. Let us keep on preaching the truth. Let us work hard to make sure that FEDERALISM is introduced in this country inorder to bring Peace to GREATER EQUATORIA REGION in particular and to the Whole country in general.
FEDERAL RULE is the only system which limits the voice of jengelon Council of elders to only their regions not to other regions. I know it it is a hard work but for sure we are heading the right direction. It is now the time explains to us that ENOUGH is ENOUGH. We have to try another system of governance by name FEDERAL RULE.
It is not only people of greater Equatoria calling for changes, it is almost the whole population in the country is seriously in need of Complete change only those land grabbers who do not want any change. But it is too late for them……………….Let them think of how to go back to their regions and take care of their cows there.

Fellows Equatorians, the Dinka-run genocidal regime of killer Kiir and the Dinka warlords, Malong Awan, Kuol Manyang, Makuei liar, Philip Aguer, Ambrose Riing, and Bona Malual will not stop terrorizing civilians because it is a state sponsored terrorists regime. What the disgraced and killer Kiir’s regime doing in Equatoria is simply implementing the act of the state sponsored terrorism’s best and widely practice technique(terrorizing civilians).

Your very right brother, at this moment where there are more political tensions the so-called politicians are so happy to propagate their fake gospel to the people through social media. I personally who is responding to this am pure Equatorian I don’t believe this website. Most of the time when am accessing the information from this website the people who are in charge of this they are preaching wrong gospel who want to use Equatorians as their farming tools may God forbids you for this gospel. When Equatorians take up their local arms you will make more noise the way of Uganda and Kenya will be close up when will go to Bashir your husband as you did long time ago?
