Jan 25, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Blessed by the Chairman of Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement In Opposition (SPLM-IO) Dr. Riek Machar Teny, By the Chairman of the SPLMYL Puot Kang Chol, by the SPLM National Coordinator, Banak Mading Kueth, and by SPLM state chairpersons, we are proud to announce the formation of Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement Youth League (SPLMYL) in United States of America.
The SPLM Youth League is a mass Youth formation of the SPLM; it is committed to the creation of the united, non- ethnic, non-sexist, democratic, federal and a prosperous South Sudan. The Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement Youth League (SPLMYL) was founded in 1985 by Cde. Dr. Riek Machar Teny under the leadership of Cde. Dr.John Garang de Mabior as an organization of the Youth committed to the ideals of democracy, freedom, justice, equality, peace and prosperity.
The MISSION of the SPLMYL is to support the SPLM in establishing a federal state in South Sudan and promote federalism as the only viable system of governance for South Sudan. To actively participate in the struggle to create a federal State and a society inspired by Peace, Freedom, Equality, Justice, Unity, Prosperity and Progress. The SPLMYL will ensure democracy under the rule of law and good governance, to safeguard fundamental human, economic, social, cultural and religious rights and freedoms for the benefit of the Young people.
The VISION of the SPLMYL, born of the liberation struggle and ideology, is to actively participate in the struggle to create a federal, non-ethnic, non-sexist, non-religious, democratic and prosperous South Sudan. As Young South Sudanese we have chosen the path to collective and individual sacrifice against any form of dictatorship, injustice, marginalization and corruption as it was done by our fathers and mothers against the oppressive regimes.
