SPLM Mission to USA Calls on the United Nations to Ignore “The Government Claims” on Relocations of IDPs

Addressing The government of South Sudan rejection to the UN relocation of IDPs

 By Santo Gabriel

Washington, D.C-USA.

SPLM-Mission-USAMay 11, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —  The SPLM Mission to the United States of America condemns, in the strongest terms possible, the controversial statements aired by the loyal Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Hon. Martin Elia Lomoro.

The minister was quoted by Sudan Tribune rejecting, as unwise, the proposal presented by the U.N. Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, to the Security Council to relocate the South Sudanese IDPs, who have been living in UNMISS protection sites across the country since December 2013, to their places of choice, based on the IDPs request.

In an effort to support his unfounded claims, Hon. Lomoro purported that “South Sudan is a sovereign state and allows any of her citizens to stay where it can provide protection.”

He went on denying that the IDPs, who painstakingly continue to seek shelter and protection at the poorly facilitated UNMISS sites across the country are doing so out of fear for their lives because the government fails to protect them.

The minister, instead, tried to sell the government propaganda that the IDPs remain in the heavily congested camps “…because they have decided to remain there.”

The minister, on behalf of Salva Kiir government, was objecting to the relocation of the IDPs to their ancestral lands, which also host IDPs from other parts of the country, under the rebels’ commands.

The SPLM Mission to USA categorically refutes the statements made by the cabinet affairs minister as untrue but just a propaganda to cover up the government failures to protect and provide for its own citizens.

As known internationally, South Sudanese citizens in the camps and other parts of the country live on humanitarian assistance while struggling to defend themselves from internal and external enemies.

As it has been in the news, Salva Kiir government has invested all the oil revenue and loans on Chinese weapons, and maintaining Ugandan troops in the country to direly extend its lifespan at the expense of the citizens.

It is evidenced beyond reasonable doubt that the flattering government of General Salva Kiir Mayardit is unable to provide protection to the citizens in the country. While the government has been directly involved in massacring the Nuer ethnic group, various sub-dinka tribes continue to butcher one another in Warrap and Lake states.

As observed by the International Community and the region, Salva Kiir came out as the Supreme klonopin no prescription needed Commander of presidential guards and tribal militia, who conducted house to house massacres of Nuer Ethnic groups, in December 2013.

Over 20, 000 Nuer members were reportedly killed or went missing in Juba within the first three days of the conflict as Salva Kiir ordered 6Pm-6Am curfew and house to house search of Nuer Ethnic Group.

These initial killings and fabrication of coup in attempt to assassinate Dr. Riek Machar and other political opponents inflamed the current civil war and unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the country.

It is also evidenced that following the visit of Information Minister, Mr. Makuei Lueth, to the UN protection site in Bor town in 2014, the regime launched a premeditated attack at the same site in which hundreds of innocent unarmed Nuer civilians were executed in cold blood.

The UN has also documented the systematic attacks at Nuer ethnic men, women and children in Malakal, Mapel and elsewhere under the government controlled areas in South Sudan.

Undoubtedly, the Juba regime has shown time and again that it cannot protect its citizens and instead holds a malicious intent toward one ethnic group–the Nuer.

Therefore, the SPLM Mission to USA fully supports the recommendation made by the UN Secretary General, which calls for the relocation of the IDPs to areas where they can feel safe –free from government harassment, torture and summary executions.

We wish to remind, Hon. Lomoro, that this predator regime, of which he is part and parcel of, cannot be trusted with protection of innocent lives because it does not execute the rule of law but Khartoum adopted dictatorial rules of intimidation and segregation.

The regime is lawless, chaotic and barbaric to the extent of preying on her own citizens based on ethnicity while looting the country of its resources.

The SPLM Mission to the United States of America, would like to seize this opportunity to congratulate the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, for this wise and responsible decision to relocate the IDPs to their places of choice, even if that happens to be outside government controlled areas, as that is in the best interest of the IDPs since the Government of South Sudan [GoSS] is in fact unable to provide such protection to their lives and properties.

The mission further appeals to the international community to support the UN in the implementation of this decision.

Tiny Unity State not separate itself from the rest of South Sudan and Nuer can’t force nobody to accept that mentally dead Riek Machar to become president if that is in Nuer’s mind.

AGUMUT, Instigates with tribally motivated attacks. Lou Nuers alone can take all the Bor counties away from him it happened before but they had to be given back to them. Sometimes I wonder what have been AGUMUT had the past old colonials rescue them. This time again modern era safe them where peace, unity and co-existent is the norm because the Nuers would have the right to occupied all lands of these aggressing Jur. Let them continue with their aggressions and we will answer them kindly when the time is right.
