August 5, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) -Students from Rubkotna County in East Africa nations applaud rebels’ appointment of Gen. Ruai Kuol Jal as military governor of Liech state, formerly Unity state in the ten states system.
The youth refers to the appointment of their son by the opposition leader, Riek Machar Teny, as a wise decision at the right place at the right time.
In the meetings conducted in Kampala, the groups which came from Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia welcomed the leadership of SPLM/SPLA, under commands of former vice president and commends Machar for entrusting Jal as the next Unity state governor.
“We wish to express our sincere thank and gratitude to the Leadership of SPLM/SPLA-IO under our able Cde Dr. Riek Machar Teny for entrusting you to lead our people in this very difficult movement in our history,” the group added.
Ruai Jany Nyang, a chairman of Rubkotna Universities and Colleges Students in Uganda, has hosted Kampala meeting, which brought in different Leek students from neighboring countries, with an aim to strategize their weighing of supports to rebels’ movement on the ground.
However, the group said they are working against the fall of tyranny regime who was allegedly massacred over 20,000 members of Nuer ethnic group in mid December, 2013.
“We are also thankful to other communities and individuals who stood and fought bravely alongside the freedom fighters in protecting the life of our vulnerable communities from the hand of exploiter and exploited,” Nyang added.
He said Leek Youths, students and intellectuals will stand firm in support of former vice president to fight for just war for better South Sudan.
The group appreciates the role played by their sons in decades war of struggles between the arab north and Christians in the south, accusing unnamed communities in Unity state for their backstabbing as mercenaries of genocide.
“We do appreciate of never wavering steadfast in defending the land and people of South Sudan during the years of our liberation up to the birth of the Republic of South Sudan in July, 9th, 2011,”. the group says.
The Leeks Youths say they are grateful for the support from South Sudanese and other Unity State communities for allowing their son to lead them.
The groups have accused pro government in Unity State for human right abuses and crimes against humanity in several raids in areas occupied by the armed opposition, south of state capital, Bentiu.
“We learned with deep sorrow this inhuman acts in which our people were subject to, as the results many have lost their lives, properties when our areas were attacked by Kiir forces and theirs recruits during the month of April, May, and June respectively,” the statement read.
The group says the destruction caused by pro government in Unity state is unacceptable and calls on African Union and world leaders to investigate and account those responsible for murder of civilians.
“Such destructions are unacceptable, unimaginable and must not go unnoticed whether now or in the futures,.
However the group has welcome the defensive position by “Gogam” armed Youths allied to South Sudan rebels’ leader for standing firm against oppressive regime of Juba.
