Feb 14, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Following the announcement of defection of government allied rebel group, COBRA, which rallies Murle ethnic group to join the opposition, members of Murle tribe in Bor, Jonglei state, have expressed fear of insecurity.

The less than one thousand population has remained on high alert, exchanging phones calls, on Saturday night as government allied youth in Bor were reportedly expected to attack the official of the minority community for the decision passed in Greater Pibor to join the SPLM/SPLA [in Opposition], under the former Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

According to a member of parliament in Bor, who represents one of the Murle’s constituencies, Murle sons and daughters “have had a tough night in Bor town last night”.

“From 8pm yesterday we start hearing rumors that we will be arrested or attack because Murle are defecting to rebels.” Said the Honorable who comment on condition of anonymity due to fear of reprisal.

The official claims that the armed Murle sons and daughters in the army and body guards to officials in the town of Bor are approximately 800 in number, however, he believes that they had no intention to defect as alleged.

According to the official, Murle would regardless fight in self-defense if attack by the youth or government soldiers.

“We are not going any where, who said we defected, to who? Those people are lying, none of us defected but if youth or government soldiers attack us, we will fight to defend ourselves” said the official.

Two weeks ago, Murle gunmen were accused of an attack at Jalle Payam of Bor county in which five people were killed and seven others injured.

A month earlier, the minority community was also accused of being responsible for an attack in the neighboring Twic East county at Pawoi payam.

Although Salva Kiir administration has signed an agreement with the Murle-dominated rebel faction, COBRA, the two parties disagreed on the implementation process.

According to an insider in the government, the peace process with COBRA has cost the government over $ 10 millions US dollar.

The insider believes that the top three leaders of Cobra, led by David Yau Yau have received over $1.5 US dollars as bonuses, accommodation and restoration fees.

Yau Yau, however, has remained inquisitive on how members of Salva Kiir government spent millions of US dollars that were donated by Arab Emirates towards Jebel Boma project.

According to the official, Arab Emirates donated over $50 million US dollar for the re-construction of a Tourist attraction and a mega Tourist hotel that were destroyed during the recent wars in Pibor area, however, the official believes that a big chunk of such money ended up in pockets of a few individuals that include, but not limited to, president Salva Kiir and Akot Lual, who was in charge of the project.

According to the insider, Yau Yau, who was received on a “red carpet” in Juba, has remains in Juba following up on the implementation of GPAA and project Jebel Boma but to his disappointment little has been done so far.

The official believes that, due to conflicts of interests, COBRA remained loosely united for the last year, however, the army has now returned to bush as the implementations failed.

While suspicion among the ranks of COBRA has been rampant that David Yau Yau, among the top leadership, has received millions of dollars in ransom, others attest that their leader was closely monitoring the implementation of the agreement in the interest of all Murle ethnic group.

Yau Yau, however, has turned down government assignments to recruit 10, 000 youth to attack Lou-Nuer counties from his newly created GPAA.

Yau Yau is also believe to have encountered a government plan to use Greater Pibor as a launching pad to Lou-Nuer areas.

According to the commander of Greater Pibor forces, Col. Paulino Zangil, Salva Kiir’s regime intended to fit the minorities tribes against one another as a divide and rule tactic.

In his latest declaration, Zangil calls for peaceful coexistent among the neighboring tribes in Jonglei state.

“The COBRA forces and the Murle People are for peaceful coexistence with their neighboring communities (Lou Nuer, Dinka, Anuak, Toposa, etc). As such, we condemn the regime’s tactics which promote ethnic conflict between neighboring communities” Col. Zangil emphasized in his press statement.

yes! Itis true, the Dinkas know to kill some one who unarmed, but they can not go after a armed man.
to kill unarmed civilian, it’s like somebody who eat a leftover food. Why Dinkas are not going to the defected men instead of fighing children in UNMISS BASES and Politician/Members of Parliament.

Remember do not harm civilians and citizens(Murle in particular) who are not in active military directive because SPLM/A-Cobra Division announced their support. All unarmed civilians are neutral until found armed against safety of other civilians and therefore deserve protection by the civil authority regardless of their tribes. We must stop terrorising civilians and leave such disregard for human life to those Juba group under Kiir.

This Col Zangil must be high on some drugs. What peaceful coexistence is he talking about while Murle COBRA faction has been attacking all the neighboring communities since it’s formation?

Who can forget the atrocities this Murle outfit has meted on the Lou Nuer, Anyuak, and Dinka communities in the three counties? Anyway when peace is restored between Kiir Mayardit and Riek Machar warring gangs, Murle COBRA faction must account for the atrocities they have committed against their neighbors since the onset of their insurgency in 2010.

Some times circumstances rule that it is imperative for

” …. the enemy of my enemy to become my friend ….”.

The Murle & Nuer have been united by this simple above philosophy.

We now share a common enemy who is working hard to sell our hard-won independence to IGAD Illuminati community.

God through Ngundeng has pre-engineered the actions of false-king salva kirr to be the catalyst of unity of the oppressed. I am not surpised anymore.

Nuers People Need To Ask Themselves What A Nation We Will Be Living If People Continues Supporting Violence As You Guys Wanted.

All and all, it is getting ugly if you don’t really feel a shameful I do. We are absolutely getting a shame in the worldwide and this is because of violence that have created by two leaders namely current president Salva Kiir Mayardit and his former vice president turned rebel leader Riek Machar Teny just after gaining independence on July/2011. As you have hear from Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta saying, everything should not always be resolving through violence but dialogue is the most powerful one. If we continues supporting violence for the next 21 years what do you thinks could happen on civilians? We want to avoid this unnecessary civil war by all mean and started development because there is no benefits to get on war but killing and losing lives yes. What a nation do we want to lived in South Sudan ask yourself. Please keep singing on winning war but it will back fire.

Very good question to ask of the Nuer as you initiated
(I don’t agree with the question towards the Nuers but I am not going to address it right now.)

Now turn your attention to the Dinka community as in conversation and ask them the same question you have ask the Nuers and be factual on violence initiated by Dinka community or leaders against South Sudanese or other tribes. you can start with Juba massacre, Gajaak massacres and the rest because there are many & truth deep with in you will guide you.

Anything short of truth of the violence by Dinka towards other tribe I will not accept.I know you will not response because you are attempt is to emit lies on Nuers but the benefit of the doubt is on you. Good luck
