Dec 24, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- Today December 15, 2015, the office of South Sudanese Nuer Canadian Cultural Society of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada would like to announce to all the entire South Sudanese Nuer Community worldwide that “December 15 commemoration” is a must to be remembered each year for the generations to come both nationally and internationally.
We the Nuer Community in Edmonton condemned the Government of South Sudan in strongest term possible for massacring its own citizen on December 15, 2013 in Juba.
South Sudanese Nuer Community members in Edmonton support the ongoing peace agreement so that all South Sudanese displaced by the conflict should come back to their territories and live in peace with their neighbours.
Based on the resolution, the South Sudanese Nuer Canadian Community Members in Edmonton have these questions to ask all the Nuer people across the globe.
One: Will the Nuer people wherever they are forget the December 15, 2013 history/massacre?
Two: Will the Nuer people allow this massacre to repeat itself to the Nuer Community members wherever they are on this planet again?
Third: Did the Nuer massacre in Juba happen due to lack of unity of the Nuer?
Fourth: Did the enemy take the advantage to massacring the Nuer people in Juba due to the Nuer’s disorganization caused by some elements in the society? If so, have the entire Nuer Community members learned from this conspiracy?
Five: Are the Nuer people ready to prevent this conspiracy from repeating itself on to the innocent of the Nuer (children, women, and elders) based on the damage it has caused in our entire Nuer community?
Last: We the Nuer Community in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada call upon the Nuer Community worldwide both in South Sudan and in diaspora to retrieve their unity and build unshakable Nuer unity foundation from this generation toward years to come.
Once again, “December 15, 2013 Massacre” of the Nuer people in Juba must be declared as “national day” in the Republic of South Sudan.
This Resolution press Release on December 15 has been approved by the General Assembly of South Sudanese Nuer Canadian Cultural Society of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on December 19, 2015
