Nov 2, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — Speaking to his personal journalist, Gatwech Koak Nyuon who was last month named by Ethiopian Churches as Peace Ambassador condemned the incident and urged the Kenyan Government to restore calm in Kakuma. He also extended his condolence to the deceased and repeatedly condemns the clashes. He termed the incident as ‘self-fish and senseless motivated fighting’.
Gatwech currently based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as a Churches confirmed Ambassador without portfolio neither from the Government of South Sudan nor the rebel group.
Mekonen Tefere who is an independent journalist on Human Right and Democracy confirm the sadness by Ambassador Gatwech for the baseless hatred incident by refugees in Kenya.
Gatwech reminds the refugees to concentrate on their safety instead of focusing on tribal skirmishes in their second Country.
South Sudan witnessed exchange of guns through civil war caused by incapable leadership that led to the December conflict last year.
The Peace Ambassador urged both Kiir and Dr. Machar to quickly reach an amicable solution to restore peace in order for refugees to return home.
Gatwech appreciated the roles of refugees’ elders and believe that the chair people in respected communities will knowledgably restore calm in the camp.
Ethiopia is hosting nearly 200,000 refugees while some 90,000 South Sudanese are confirmed to be in Kakuma Camp of Kenya.
