Feb 4, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The South Sudanese government announced on Wednesday that it has received an assurances from the rebel leadership that they would release Isaiah Chol Aruai, the chairman of the South Sudan bureau of statistics, after he was abducted off a humanitarian aircraft.

“Contacts have been made and the rebels’ leadership has given assurances that comrade Isaiah Chol and his colleagues will be released today,” Cabinet Affairs Minister Martin Elia Lomuro said Wednesday.

In August 2014, Gabriel Yien Gach was reportedly pulled out of NPA’s vehicle and killed by some unknown groups in Maban County. Six other Nuer -UN workers were targeted in Maban County by government allied militia to Juba’s regime.

In October the same year of 2014 – Mark Diang, a United Nations worker, who works for World Food Programme was kidnapped at Malakal airport, in Upper Nile state.

Chuar Juet Jock, a south Sudanese residing in United States of America added that the movement (SPLM-IO) was forced to revolt and at the same time accepts to fight for injustice. “Indeed these people need to be investigated thoroughly, but after proper investigations, they should be released if innocent.”

Chuar Juet who is also an entrepreneur and computer scientist added that the movement fights for change not for revenge against individuals. “We can’t follow the footsteps of Kiir tribal regime…the government must tell us the Mark Diang and Gabriel Yien Gach whereabouts.” Mr. Juet elaborated.

Another high-ranking rebel official who talked in condition of anonymity said that the detention of Isaiah Chol Aruai is a result of his wrong doing of things. “Mr. Isaiah Chol Aruai ordered the election to go a head to legitimizes president Kiir and suspend census, this is an act of selfishness.” The rebel commander said in exclusive interview.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Michael Makuei Lueth announced on state television that on Tuesday that the government had contacted the rebel leader Riek Machar and his chief negotiator Taban Deng Gai to inform them about the development and to ask that the officials be released on humanitarian grounds.

Peter Domach from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia said that the release of these people would account to weakness of Dr. Riek Machar. “These people pretend not to allied with government in Juba, but to me they are spying…we must arrest them until the government return Gabriel Yien Gach and Mark Diang.” Domach said sadly.

Kailech Malual from Nairobi said that Isaiah Chol and his colleagues should be kept captive until further truce.

In a report published on Wangdunkon media on February 4, 2015, Cde. Gatdiet Peter calls upon the government of South Sudan to answer whereabouts of Mark Diang and Gabriel Yien Gach. The statement entitled: Where Is Mark Diang (WFP), Gabriel Yien Gach (NPA) and Others Before Asking For Mr. Isaiah Chol Aruai?

Another refugee in Khartoum told the reporter that the release of Isaiah Chol Aruai and his colleagues would mean that Dr. Machar and Gen. Taban Deng Gai are acting for personal leadership not for pursuing the objectives of the movement. He added on the phone.

Of course your right they should release those people first because they are very important too like those guys or whatever they name them. I don’t know why rebel always forgive the government while the government always do stupid thing.

The government will be forced to ground all UN flights to the rebels territory if Isaiah Chol and his colleagues are kept captives indefinitely.

Their community will be forced to take law into it’s hand if they are not released.

With rebels, there’s nothing called releasing any body caught from the government side . these people should be treated as POW or join the SPLA/M in opposition. Dr. Riek and Taban Deng should not make that mistake of releasing the culprit. Where those UN/NGO staff who perished in the hands of the Salva Kiir Juba regime.

Even if they are to be released. Its best to apply some sort of bureaucratic processing & delay their release for a good 4-5 months.

I heard that the rebels are asking for ransom to release those guys, that is definitely vision-less movement aka SPLM/IO. Hahahahaha, kill them and you will smell the rat.

let us not kill them to show it to the world that we are not terrorist as said by Makuei Lueth.let us release them to show them that we are fighting for change in the country.let us release them becuase they are only three and are even equivelant to 20.000 nuer killed in juba

Goikuach! i hope you don’t have common sense, these Issue is very simple. Tell me it is from what base can Isaiah be released? why he did not stand to protect constitution for the right of people? His mistake of breaking constitution through ordering of election with out Census is the one that lead him to the hand of Rebel. Let him answer the question of why Census is not important at this time while election is important? All who work against the law will be brought to Justice by G-d one by one. Now Isaiah Chol next time will be chair person for election commission. I know Isaiah Chol is a good man but love of money destroy your deeds. All who were separatist will enjoy Federalism it will not be like independent when all who were lobby for new Sudan becomes the one who enjoy independent. A formula is simple ” RELEASE MARK DIANG THEN ISAIAH CHOL WILL BE RELEASED OR RELEASE ALL THREE ABDUCTED IN MALAKAL THEN ALL THE THREE WILL BE RELEASED”!

SPLM IO under leadership of Dr Riek machar Teny will witness that the movement is for the civillians instead of killing them because of their ethnicity . while kiir Government use to kills civillians , like what happen in maban Gabriel yien NPA workers and some others collegues was kills because they are Nuer . and in malakal WFP worker Mark Diang was kill by Dinka and shulluk militia because he his a Nuer

Good reasoning bro. Any civilian or aide worker killed is an act of cowardice and should be condemn by all. The war is between two rivals party who disagree on political issues or power struggle of their leaders.

To release those war captivity will not teach Kiir a lesson, I should only enjoy those are given a tough teaching so Kiir could know how hard we are.

You not gonna teach Kiir any think because peace is already signed Riek got what he want (vice president) When Riek is happy, all Nuers are happy according to NGUNDENG. Riek left with Nuer, but he will come back by himself as usual. I don’t know if Nuer understand him. We are waiting your celebration of Riek position.
Good Luck NAATH.

You people will not understanding how to win a war of politics. Killing innocent civilians is not a way to win. Why don’t Duop Lam go to Ayod town where Kiir army is station. You didn’t captured this guys in the war or loitering in your control areas. These are UN workers and their interest is not war at all.Think sometime and ask yourself how many hundreds of thousand Nuer lives in Dinka areas and none of them are killed, How many Nuer who are in front-line supporting Kiir. Politic is about strategy where you can use brothers against each other in order to win. Why Nuer don’t persuaded Dinkas to help them instead of killing them when they captured one.
If Nuer don’t changed, then it would be very hard to win war with Dinka because Dinkas don’t know your superiority as you claim. I am appealing for the released of those guys otherwise. I am a Dinka, but what I telling you is truth that make it very hard for other tribes to follow you. I have some Nuer friends to be honest, nothing wrong with Nuer except when they are trying to achieve their political ambition.

the measurement u measure to people will be measured to u..
u contacted Dr. machar/Taban, these people r not the same individual whom u conspired to assassinate on Dec.15-19.
Is Isaiah, Mading&Aleer lifes more valuable than that of 20000
innocence nuer massacred on Dec 15-19/13.Make sure where u sent Gabrial Yien Gach&Mark Diang for detention is the same place where
Isaiah & his collegues will be detain too.Asking for their release
justifies that u donot recall your own actions.Isaiah ,Mading &Aleer
r the prise of your deeds.

Isaiah Chol, Mading Akueth and Aleer Longar are in Juba bro. Thank Nuer rebels for releasing them as a good gesture for peace. Thon Kree Deang, we don’t know what you talking about bro. Next time we get you, we will feed you and release you. Your sense of understanding coming back. Kiir is still South Sudan president period. The peace in Addis Ababa mean the following:
1. forgiveness, Nuer cannot tolerated no more.
2 Kiir is the president,
3. Leave Dinka alone on top.
4.Nuer surrender in the name of peace.
5. Ngundeng prophecies is not true.

NB. Dinkas still have 1 million men to fight off Nuer in the next 5 years. You better do the math and numbers don’t lie. After this peace agreement Nuer will be sorry for their action and will apologized to Dinkas as usually. You need to be dis-horn properly to avoid your impulsive action in the future.
DINKA IS GREAT AND HEAVY FOR YOU TO REMOVED FROM POWER as saying goes if you cannot beat them, then join them. that is the only window that is open for you.
Simple question; ARE YOU COMING BACK TO KIIR OR NOT?

i don’t think u guys r gud judges to be considered, Nuer regime isn’t about ethnicity or what z fuck u r all claiming for.
By all means fucken dinka will know evry now and then that they have played with fire where they will never be comfortable again in all circumstances
coz before we used to treat u as our brothers it wasn’t bcoz of ur braveness that makes u leaders 2day guys but bcoz we thought fairness is gud in governance. anyway time has come 4 us to realised that now dinka r boasting that they r brave but in fact no tribe is as brave as Nuer in south sudan when it comes to reality

to my fellow Nuer mighty brothers,
plz be calm know that we r fighting coz of humanity we want to liberate every citizen of s.sudan to live free without considering ethnicity, cultural backgrounds or whatever aspects on the ground. let’s be peace preachers and let’s fuck them later if they don’t respond well to peace. we know no one in s. sudan can claim is the best or most importance than other
during the struggle for the independent of s.sudan we were the greatest demonstrators and best fighters to the extent that Bashir knew very well in the history where he insult Gen. Taban Deng
anyway these food lovers (dinkas) don’t know z history very well

prove me if am wrong
Thanks!!!!

To Buay Malek’s statement that the SPLM-IO had kidnapped Isaiah Chol with other two UN workers was stupid statement by a stupid person like Buay himself. How could the SPLM-IO kidnap people flying on a plane that landed at its will be said to be kidnapped. Buay put it that way to pleease his masters, (dinkas). Buay if you were a human being, why never mention about the kidnapping and the killing of Gabriel Yien Gach in maban and other six Nuer guys by militias recruited by kiir government, and the kidnapping of Mark Diang at Malakal airport. Which one is terrorist? kiir government or SPLM-IO? I want you to give an answer. Padiet Gahgah. can be reached by pgahgah@yahoo.com
