Dec 23, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- With deep sorrow and regrets, the Eastern Jikany Nuer Community announces an untimely death of, at least, its 19 members killed in a raid that’s attributed to Murle tribemen.
According to David Koak Guok, the chairperson of Eastern Jikany Nuer Community in Juba, the raiders abducted 8 children and wounded 7 others during the attack in Bukteng villages on 17th of December, 2015
“The abduction of 8 Eight children and 7 others wounded in Bukteng villages in Ulang county which occur on 17th of December 2015 at 4 00 Am by heavy armed group of Murle tribe of COBRA.” David said.
The Eastern Jikany Community strongly condemns the attacks on innocent populations at a time the country is yearning for peace.
“the entirely  of Eastern Jikany community strongly condemns  this atrocious acts during the time for South Sudanese of yearning for peace and the arrival of the SPLM I,O  for kick start of the implementation of the compromise peace agreement.” said the chairman.
The community calls on the leaders of the Murle ethnic group to return the abducted children, cattle and other properties looted to minimize further escalations and revenge attacks between the two communities.
Bukteng village was once a provisional headquarter of the Sudan People Liberation Army at its onset between 1984 to 1986.
The village is located about 25 Mile South East of Nasir town on the Western Bank of Gilo River.
