Oct 26, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan, refers as ECCSS, is a Faith Base Organization serving as one of the National Churches of South Sudan. The ECCSS is striving to serve both the holistic and spiritual needs of South Sudanese Communities and beyond.
On October 11-12, 2015 this month, the ECCSS in collaboration with Relief Organization for South Sudan (ROSS) furnished the Relief and Medical supplies sponsored by its long and dedicated partner Covenant World Relief in USA to sick and wounded IDPs mainly women and children, who are stranded in the two Community health Centers in Pagak and Maiwut Counties of Upper Nile State, South Sudan.
The Covenant World Relief (CWR) is a development and relief wing of the Evangelical Covenant Church in USA that serves as long term partner of the Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan (ECCSS).
The CWR sponsored several community developments and Relief Projects through the ECCSS to the people of South Sudan before and during the ongoing crisis. The IDPs who have remained in helpless circumstance in those health centers are desperately looking for immediate supports to save their lives. They lack most of their basic needs!
Therefore, the local authorities in the two Counties (Pagak and Maiwut) and ROSS Administration Office based in Pagak Head Quarters applaud the enormous contributions of Covenant World Relief through ECCSS that saved the lives of the marginalize people of South Sudan, who are living in horrendous situations in the two community health Centers.
Supervised by Rev. Mathew Jock Moses, the Director of Projects and Development Programme of ECCSS, trelief and medical supplies were successfully handed over to the health centers’ Administration Offices, which will be able to supply the relief items to the intended patients, mainly the wounded IDPs, women and children who were caught on the cross fire or intentionally wounded in the ongoing violence in South Sudan.
The organization also distributed non-food items like blankets, mosquito nets, sandal shoes and plastic cups which were given to the wounded patients along with the medical supplies.
The patients who suffer from other diseases a part from wounds comprised the secondary beneficiaries of the CWR-ECCSS Relief items. The two community health centers are hosting patients from all tribes which inhabited Upper Nile State, South Sudan.
The relief and medical supplies, donated by Covenant World Relief (CWR) through the Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan (ECCSS), were distributed by a team of church leaders and medical doctors led by Reverend Mathew Jock Moses.
The relief and medical supplies were inspected by Dr. Zecho Gatkek Gatkaal, a medical doctor by profession and an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan before they were handed over to health centers’ authorities.
Dr. Zecho consulted several patients, who were suffering from various diseases and complications, during the CWR Relief delivery. The local authorities in the two health centers are thrilled with Dr. Zecho Gatkek and the entire team led by Rev. Mathew Jock Moses.
Thus, the local authorities of Pagak and Maiwut Counties, the two health centers’ Administrators and the patients in the two health centers, who constitute the primary beneficiaries pool of the CWR Relief, thanked the Covenant World Relief (CWR) Director David Husby and the entire Commission members of CWR for their unwavering supports to the people of South Sudan.
They thank the Evangelical Covenant Church Congregations in USA for their unrelenting love and commitments to support the people of the war-torn Country, South Sudan. They also thank the Evangelical Covenant Church of South Sudan (ECCSS) and Relief Organization for South Sudan (ROSS) Administration Offices for their creditable efforts to advocate to the donor organizations on behalf of the local communities that live in dire situation in South Sudan.
The people of South Sudan will never forget the tireless contributions rendered to them by CWR and ECC Congregations in USA.
May God Bless the compassionate who devote their precious gifts and times for the betterment of the needy people of South Sudan!
