Feb 9, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — Captain Modi Joseph Robert Kenyi, a Human Right Lawyer by profession has called it enough to continue serving while witnessing the plight of his people under the leadership of Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, according to his declaration, seen by Nyamilepedia.

Kenyi, who was commissioned as a captain by the late SPLM/SPLA Chairman, Dr. John Garang de Mabiro on Jan 1st, 2004, has never seen promotion in the last eleven years; something he believes many marginalized populations have been witnessing under Salva Kiir’s leadership, however, unlike many unemployed South Sudanese, Capt. Kenyi has served as the Directorate for Military Justice until July 2014.

Kenyi this time, however, believes that the system of governing in the country must be transformed to incorporate federalism.

“The struggle continues for federal democratic republic of South Sudan where all people enjoy human rights and freedoms; respect rule of law” said the Human Rights Lawyer, Mode J. R. Kenyi.

To Kenyi, the call for federalism cannot be achieved under the leadership of the incumbent president, Salva Kiir Mayardiit.

The lawyer blames the leaders of Equatoria for cowardice, mockery and standing-by while watching the suffering of their people.

“Yes, our suffering and that of the people is disgraced while our politicians, generals and so called leaders standby seeing us being killed daily, day and night in our houses with impunity. It is mockery and cowardice” Kenyi said.

Although Kenyi has decided to defect from the government, he still has one major dilemma, choosing the right group between the two armed oppositions.

To maximize his opportunities and utilize his skills, Kenyi has submitted two membership applications to SPLM/SPLA [In Opposition] and another to the newly formed Revolutionary Movement for National Salvation, REMNASA.

In his application to REMNASA, Kenyi explains that he has also applied to join the Legal and Human Right Committee of SPLM/SPLA, headed by Dr. Richard K. Mula, something that the barely formed REMNASA is yet to adopt.

“For your information, I have already to join the legal and human rights committee headed Dr Richard K Mula under the SPL/M IO. I am yet to get a reply. But I think that cannot prevent me from joining remnasa.” Kenyi wrote.

Although the SPLM/SPLA is yet to respond to his application, Kenyi believes that the two Resistance movements are one or should at least alliance to work together when necessary.

“In my opinion, since SPLA/M-IO is fighting the Kiir regime, it is proper to create alliance where there similarities while guarding the interests remnasa where differences exist” Kenyi remarked.

In his application to REMNASA Kenyi strongly urges REMNASA leadership to establish links with these other leaders in opposition, Dr. Riek Machar and Dr. Richards K. Mula, and above all, with their Generals like Maj. Gen. Martin Kenyi of SPLA [IO], since the two movements have similar objectives and fight the same regime.

“Honestly, advice you to have contacts with Gen. Elias, Kenyi, Salam, DrRiek and others at the political level and see where remnasa and SPLA/M-IO can ally since both movements are fighting Juba regime.” Kenyi said.

Kenyi has been welcomed by REMNASA, and while waiting for a response from SPLM/SPLA, he has seized the opportunity to join the REMNASA.

“Dear All, Captain Joseph Kenyi of South Sudan Peoples’ Army  joinedRemnasa on 7/2/2015. This is a major defection from the South Sudan Army because Kenyi brings with him wealth of experience first as an army officer but above all as a Human Right Lawyer.” The REMNASA leadership states.

“Therefore, I seize this opportunity to join remnasa officially this 7 day of February 2015 to struggle for remnasa’s vision, mission and objectives” Kenyi said.

Pleased by this rare defection, REMNASA encourages youth, women, young and old to follow suit and join the people’s movement “to accelerate the fall of an ugly regime in Juba”.

“Therefore, REMNASA is appealing to all South Sudanese to follow in the footsteps of Kenyi and join the peoples’ movement so as to accelerate the fall of this ugly regime and start rebuilding our ruined country.” REMNASA leadership, under major Losubo, remarks.

Who is going to fight for big people and who is going to allow their children to fight for greediest officials?

Great news, Captain Kenyi is free to Join either camp of REMNASA, & SPLA/M – In Opposition. Simultaneous defection of governors of Equatoria & Yaw-Yaw’s will be a major blow for Juba. It is happening soon.
