August 11, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — Former South Sudan’s ambassador to Washington, Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth, accompanied by Amb. Stephen Par Kuol, and Mr. Miyong G. Kuon, the Opposition’s representative to United Nations in New York, convene series of conferences across North America to brief the South Sudanese communities and sympathizers on the ongoing conflict in the country.
In Washington Amb. Lol assured the protestors that “Salva Kiir is going” because no governments want to associate themselves with him. Lol continued that, in fact, the last meeting between president Salva Kiir and Obama was what he organized during his term as the ambassador in 2011.
Amb. Lol believes that the South Sudanese leader made attempts to meet Obama recently but failed because the congress would be held accountable by the American people.
He continued saying that if Salva Kiir was really intelligent he would have “slaughtered” him while in prison. Lol narrates how the political detainees survived assassinations on multiple occasions in prison.
The former ambassador tells the South Sudanese-Americans that “the democratic war has began”.
“For South Sudan to heal – for South Sudan to reconcile – for South Sudan to develop again, you cannot have Salva leading it.” Lol told Michele Kelemen of NPR News.
The delegation has arrived in Nesbraka, U.S.A, yesterday, where they held successful meetings and are expected to extend the mission to Canada.
According to reports received by Nyamilepedia, the delegation will be received by hundreds of South Sudanese-Canadians in the capital of Alberta, Calgary on August 15.
Alberta is one of the provinces in Canada with a huge South Sudanese population. Hundreds of protestors matched to the streets on Wednesday last week to mark the “Kiir Must Go” protest in North America. Many protestors turned up in British Columbia’s Vancouver and capital Toronto, Ontario.
This will be the second time an Opposition delegation is received by crowds in Calgary. A few months ago, a meeting with Dr. Wani Tombe was attended by approximately 400 South Sudanese.
Ignore Buay Malek
Following publications made by Gordon Buay, a South Sudanese who claim to speak on behave of the government, last week, the former ambassador urges South Sudanese to ignore Buay’s publicity. Amb. Lol believes that Buay only seeks attention that need to be ignored.
As published by media houses, Buay Malek reports that Amb. Ezekiel met Salva Kiir in Washington and defected to the government.
Lol denied the allegation and urged the concern South Sudanese to contact Rev. Paul Mator, a South Sudanese spiritual leader, who has been painted by Gordon Buay as the proof of defection.
“Call Paul Mator at 615-300-1977 who had my picture taken with him and will tell you how he took my picture. I do not want attention seekers like Buay Malek to bother you all. Just ignore him. I never met Kiir or Akot.” Lol said.
