Dec 23, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) —- Hello Juba! With warm greetings extended back to Pagak, from where we came. You beloved people of South Sudan, some of whom are happily blossoming with optimism and those still reserved with cautious skepticism, all are greeted with words full of hope and faces full of smile.

SPLM-IO, as the team, has come with hands open to embrace and not with the clinched fist to fight. Armed with nothing but resolute belief that no victors and vanquished in peace, neither vengeance nor vendetta. For we are brothers and sisters tightly bound by common destiny in a forward looking nation. Strive to ensure South Sudan as the nation revive lost hope as it continues to explore its potential.

Towards this noble endeavor, may our guiding constitution be anchored in collective moral conscience, than in the free will of one self-effacing strong man, in the country we must all perceive and conceive as larger than our emotional egos and material gains.

Together, we shall build lasting institutions of good governance to tackle myriad of challenges, such as diseases and poverty, which have landed us in quagmire of social indignity. So that they are all consigned to the dark past. No to war that is both suicidal and optional for the ignorant. And yes to peace that is per-requisite to sanctity of life and sustainable development we all cherish.

Today, we are proud to announce to you no more devastating civil war that has deprived us of our God-given material riches as well as laid countless generations of our human capital to waste.

Due to respective spooning off resources to the strangers’ benefits in the outside world as well as lack of both essential educational and health services for our long suffering people here at home. Similar negative effects of war have virtually denied us of mass communication networks that could help us learn socially from and intellectually interact with each other through different kinds of medium towards building a common national identity.

As is the case with safe drinking water and power shortages becoming synonymous with our still decadent way of life. Besides not being conducive to physical health and the required entrepreneurship culture. Obviously, with these abject lacks as illustrated, grinding poverty is the dilapidating norm than the rare exception.

While the reverse is however true. For in peace all goodies life needs are possible in our country, so great and beautiful. Magnificently rich in countless resources. Few to mention are an ideal weather of lurk warm sunshine and land of marvelous hills, plains and valleys too vast for our small population.

Fertile soil and rainfall in the plenty for a promising agriculture. That is apart from rivers full of delicious fish to eat and wild lives that make our country a captivating tourist attraction. The same rivers, if fully utilized, can provide us with water for irrigation schemes in our few arid areas.

Besides, both surface minerals and others which are abundantly found beneath in every nook and cranny of our beloved country. Live stocks in form of cattle, sheep and goats from which we get the most nourishing meat and milk. While their hides or skins are even more than enough to clothe our nakedness as well as cover our bare feet in form of shoes.

Not forgetting fiber plants efficiently enough to provide the regional markets and beyond with paper and colorful carpets. Our edible fruits and vegetables, most of which abundantly grow in the wild, are no match to what our neighbors have.

All the goodies, as above mentioned and more others, are only within reach during peace in which we have nothing to lose by embracing, as we equally turn our backs to warlike behaviors and an insatiable greed. All capped with cultivating love in our hearts and towards one another, being the only pre-requisite to sustainable peace and harmony this beloved country badly needs now and not tomorrow.

So that we are no longer lean with poverty, neither ballooned with infectious arrogance and nor walk with backs bent in shame in the community of sovereign nations.

Fight and kill ourselves! But for how long and how far shall we go on with this Stone Age madness of eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth? Yes, this hazardous journey can only stop if and when we all know there is always the beginning and end for everything – both good and bad.

Which can possibly be the case when there is an acceptance of mutual guilt on both sides. Being the only constructive road map to reconciliation and forgiveness, while necessary forgetfulness slowly takes hold in us as breathtaking process whose end result is confidence building towards final national healing.

May God bless South Sudan!

Viva SPLM!

Deng,

Well your message is very commendable, though it is highly reconciliatory.

you must remember one thing and one thing only, reconciliation and forgiveness only works when the culprits sincerely accepts- acknowledges their deadly deeds and wholeheartedly apologizes to the victims. Then and only then, can the victims decides whether to accept reconciliation and forgiving the culprits or not.

It is absolutely not the other way around bro!

Merry Christmas, and Gatdarwich hopes Juba treats you all well.

Comrade Venang

Thanks for this wonderful; piece of writing, hope all of us have a space in his heart to forgive.
But I would advise those who are good in pointing fingers to the other direction, to know that others were also pointing fingers towards them.
Both parties have their negative role in this senseless war, guilty involve the instigators, the avengers, counter-avengers etc.

Mary Xmas & Enjoy in Juba.

Every step taken by SPLM IO advance team should be taken care of. Remember museveni is not sleeping. He is following your daily activity. Stay united, discuss with your leadership & build single strong voice in meetings with stakeholders. This is no joke. You are recreating south sudan. It is big burden you are carrying. Praise to freedom fighters who paid everything for rule of law to come to south sudan and Prais to the leadership of SPLM IO.
