Dear President Barack Obama,
July 20, 2014(Nyamilepedia) — The Nuer Community in the United States, Tennessee Chapter would like to appreciate the United States government for helping to achieve the independent of South Sudan in 2011 through Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) singed in Naivasha, Kenya in 2005. The Nuer is the second largest tribe in the Republic of South Sudan and the largest South Sudanese community in the United States. South Sudan would not be sovereign state today had it not been the tireless work of the United States; South Sudan is country that President Salva Kiir Mayardit has completely destroyed.
Before the current war started, General Salva Kiir Mayardit acted against the country’s constitution by dissolving the government, sacked cabinets including his long time Vice President Dr Riek Machar Teny, Party Secretary General and top Sudan chief negotiator Pagan Amum, the government was formed again later in 30 days. Again, he imposed Mr Manasah Magok Rundial as the Speaker of South Sudan National Legislative Assembly; Members of Parliament conducted no voting, Presiden Kiir went against the constitution in many occasions. These are acts of tyranny.
From 2011 to 2012, General Salva Kiir Mayardit,, current president of the Republic of South Sudan, recruited and trained youth from his home area of Warrap and Northern Bhar El Ghazal States. The recruits, who were conscripted without full knowledge of SPLA Chief of General Staff General James Hoth Mai, were his tribesmen, purposely trained to execute his long time plan; execution of Nuer tribe and wipe them out of map of South Sudan. Also, he graduated the recruits without extending invitation of the SPLA Chief of General Staff James Hoth Mai and Military Chief of Intelligence General Mac Paul for their disapproval of the idea.
In October 2013, General President Salva Kiir Mayardit graduated his own private army. General President Kiir met privately with his team on December 15, 2013 to design the Nuer massacre in Juba; the team comprised of Defense Minister General Kuol Manyang Juuk, Information Minister General Michael Makuei Lueth, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Marial Benjamin, Interior Minister General Aleu Ayieny Aleu, Northern Bhar El Ghazal Governor General Paul Malong Awan now Chief of General Staff, Upper Nile State Governor General Simon Kun Puoc, Unity State Governor Dr Joseph Nguen Minytuil,, Chief of General Staff General James Hoth Mai, Presidential Guards Commander General Marial Chinuog.
On the night of December 15, 2013, President General Salva Kiir Mayardit concocted a foiled military coup, unleashed the venom on Nuer population in Juba by first disarming the Nuer officers within the Tiger Battalion and exchange of fire ensued. After the gun fire spread to all military barracks on ethnic lines in Juba and other towns in the country, Salva Kiir tasked gang of five; Deputy Defense Minister General Salva Mathok Gengdit, Interior Minister Aleu Ayieny, Presidential Guards Commander General Marial Chinuog, General Garang Mabil Gai of First Division and Presidential advisor on legal affairs Telar Ring Deng to carry out “genocide” on Nuer tribe.
The Gang of Five, with President Salva Kiir’s instruction, carried out Juba genocide on door-to-door basis, Nuer facial marks (scarification) and Dinka language test are used to identify the Nuer from the rest of the communities before they are executed. Based on that hunt, 400 Nuer women, elderly and children were killed in one night in Gudele slaughter house, total of 20,000 to 30,000 Nuer civilians were massacred in Juba between December 15, 2013 to December 27, 2013.
The bodies of Nuer civilians who were killed in Juba were dumped into the forest, rivers, and swamps. Moreover, all the wounded Nuer civillians that were taken to the hospital were also killed. The hospitalized and wounded Nuer patients were murdered in their hospital beds, the person that ordered the killing of patients was none other than Minster of Health Mr. Riek Gai Kok.
President Kiir continued with his genocidal project and extended it to Mapel, Malakal, Maban, Bentiu, Leer, Renk, Wau etc just to mention a few. President’s hate for the Nuer caused the genocide, havoc, and destruction in South Sudan. However, the Nuer Community in the United States is asking Mr. President not to let these people come to United States and open our old wounds. The Nuer who were murdered by President Salva Kiir include American citizens who happened to be the Nuer; their names are as follow:
- Mr Lam Chuol Thichuong from Omah, Nebraska (served in US Marines Corp)
- Mr Pal Chuol Thichuong from Anchorage, Alaska
- Mr Koang Toang Pathot from Des Moines, Iowa
- Mr Chuol Domach Duach from Seattle, Washington
- Mr Wiyual Tilian Thor from Lincoln, Nebraska
- Mr Tut Banypiny Chuol from Buffalo, New York
- Keak Dukgak Lieth from Nashville, Tennessee
The six Americans were lynched by Salva Kiir’s order simply because they are identified as the Nuer in South Sudan, the first two were brothers and were found headless on Juba street.
On Thursday April 17, 2014, President Salva Kiir Mayardit authorized his military unit Commander General Malual Ayom in Bor Town, the capital of Jonglei State to attack Nuer Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) camp in Bor while disguising as Bor youth in plain clothes. Armed with AK 47 machine riffles, RPGs, hand grenades, Pangas, Kiir’s soldiers attacked thousands of Nuer IDPs in the UNMISS camp in Bor. The IDPs have been under protection of UNMISS in its camp since the outbreak of fighting in South Sudan since the war broke out on December 15, 2013. In that attack, 145 innocent Nuer were killed and 273 were heavily wounded on the watch of UNMISS Protection Force, no arrests were made and no investigation was conducted on the Second Nuer Massacre by President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
Also, President Salva Kiir used mercenaries such as Uganda defense Force (UDF), SPLA-N, JEM and SLM against the Nuer civilians and innocent blood was spilt. Tragically enough, UPDF used cluster bombs and chemical gas that killed thousands of Nuer civil population when the UPDF clashed with the SPLM-In Opposition from December 3, 2013 to January 18, 2014, countless air bombardments by UPDF were conducted and resulted into several deaths of children, women, the sick and elderly. The UNMISS released 61-page human rights report that concluded that it had “Found physical evidence on the use of cluster munitions in the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA)/UPDF controlled Malek area of Bor County.”
The Nuer Community in the United States, Tennessee Chapter is here to humbly ask President Barrack Obama to reconsider his invitation to Salva Kiir Mayardit, in attending the African head of States submit that will take place this month. A president who murdered his own citizens, encouraged sexual violence, cannibalism and extermination of one tribe (Nuer tribe) has lost legitimacy as the president irrespective of his electability.
The above listed Generals and Ministers would also be not allowed to step on the land of “freedom”, they want to enjoy the freedom while denying the basic rights to the people of South Sudan at home. It is the hope of this organization that the office of the United States President Barrack Obama would share the pain of dictatorship with us and block the entry of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Generals, and Ministers mentioned above. In the light of the atrocities explained above that President Salva Kiir committed against single tribe in the Republic of South Sudan, it would be unwise to the most democratized country on earth to allow such people whose hands taint with innocent blood to enter this great nation.
Sincerely,
Signed:
