Jan 28, 2016 (Nyamilepedia) —- I think the bitterness of people of Abyei towards Kiir’s government mishandling of their case file is justified and I think their sons and daughters has been resilient for so long. Abyei is almost gone and instead that we have to be well prepared as a nation to tackle the remaining issues of CPA1, our leadership has plunged the country and the nation into an internal war and the issue now has become how to rescue South Sudan instead of Abyei and how to make peace between the Dinka and the Nuer or between the Shilluk and the Dinka on the other hand and not between South Sudan and Sudan or Omer Al-Bashier and Kiir Mayardit, unfortunately.
Dr. Francis case may be quite different, his position as internationally renowned scholar and one of the architect of UN’s human rights protection systems and agencies might not suit him being in the same time an advocate to Juba’s regime that is doing the contrary to
what he has been advocating for as a human rights’ advocate. As a professional diplomat he has been trying to balance between the need for him to represent his country in the UN and the higher values, morals and ethics that made him part of the UN on the other hand. Remember how he (Kiir) rejected the results of the Abyei Referendum? In that correlation, some allude that Mr. Kiir may have given Abyei to North Sudan in a secret bargain, who knows or maybe he is just reluctant of opening a new battlefront with Khartoum that may cost him his seat for sure. However, conscious about the discontent of Abyei people and leaders, trusting them of key positions in his government is a no option to Kiir.
The new battleground for the two South Sudan warring parties shifted from Greater Upper
Nile State to Greater Equatoria, Western Equatoria State to be exact. The Equatoria front is constantly boiling extremely hot; Kiir doesn’t seem to be winning anyone there except his ineffective VP Wanni Igga and grappling Dr. Lomoro. However, these are some of the opportunities and weaknesses of Kiir government that the SPLM-IO leadership is not pulling together and use them wisely to build a wider opposition, nationally oriented and that could constitute an inclusive base against Kiir. Dr. Riek Machar’s yearn for peace has compromised his backyard support, WES is the case in point. Let us just say that the majority of this country is discontent with Kiir’s administration performance and policies, nevertheless, you will surely miss such a huge possibilities if you don’t have the opposition leadership that’s serious enough to identify them and use them accordingly.
The questions are; where is Kiir’s administration heading with this country? It is neither with the Nuer nor with the Shilluk or the Abyei people and not with the Equatoria or the Dinka as whole either. His economic policies are as well self-centered and a disaster, leave alone the insecurity that has become a forgotten issue and to be honest I find it sometime quite strange and that there is no need to blame Kiir anymore but the blame must be directed this time and around to those who said they are taking care of business of removing him from power. I am saying so because Mr. Kiir has been hitting randomly left and right nearly in every aspect, a total failure in all directions and hence and it give us the right of questioning the abilities and capabilities of the opposition movement, the SPLM-IO that’s here to remove Kiir or at least force him to accept a serious reforms in all our ailing systems and institutions. But none of these is happening for almost three years and in fact it seems that Kiir is the one picking the remnants of his regime now and bettering off. This stalemate, should give us a serious review on whether the opposition movement is doing the right thing or moving in the right direction. Accountability is a crucial part of success of any political organization, don’t get me wrong.
The conclusion is that, it is high likely that, out of the frustration from both of the two leadership, a possibility of birth of a new movement that views itself to have an ability to be the true alternative for the two and uses accurately every window of weakness and every shortcoming of Juba regime to build a new South Sudan or if the SPLM-IO has reviewed its political and military strategy and will use the mentioned weakness of Juba’s regime wisely and in the interest of South Sudanese’s cause.

The only way to fight this man is for south sudanese to come together and fight. Remember Arab spring when uprising was in Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia. Kirr and JCE know that UNSC can not sanction them because, Russia and China will vito, so they can continue the war.
The issue is that Dr Riek believes solely on his Nuer tribesmen. The removal of Kiir’s administration would have been easy through the ballot paper if elections were to be thoroughly organized under the supervision of the UN. It’s obvious that most people especially the non-Dina and non-Nuer alike would join the opposition and the game would have been over, and is it. The second option is through the barrel with the group described above, well trained and in possession of firearms and ammunitions, why not. The opposition is not serious!
