September 05, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan current Vice President Wani Igga has broken his silence on the peace agreement calling on all government officials to put any reservations aside and focus on the implementation of the recently signed peace agreement fully, warning the country have seen enough bloodshed and suffering.

VP Igga said the country needed more development, more services, better security, better living standards, but not more wars.

While addressing a large crowd at an event organised by the Ministry of Labour and Public Service to launch work permits, the VP said government officials should put all reservations they have to the side and put the interest of the people and the country first.

“because we have shed a lot of blood, our people have suffered more than necessary, they need breathing space. It is time for our people need development, they need service, improvement of their standard for living.” the VP said.

In a surprising move by the Vice President who is second in command and a close ally to President Salva Kiir, observers in South Sudan say it could be an indication that senior government officials are now convinced that implementing the peace agreement is the only way forward to salvaged what is left of the war ravaged young nation.

Wani said the agreement should be disseminated in all corners of South Sudan, saying there was lack of knowledge about the agreement, urging the people to read the agreement themselves and understand it’s benefits to the country, peace should come first.

“We are not disseminating this agreement enough. And that is a danger. I know that because of our own reservation, we also have these reservations, we must have peace,” Wani Igga told the crowd.

“I think, we, it is our duty to disseminate the right information to people, so that history doesn’t judge us nasty if we fail to become a viable country in our time and our names are all there,” the VP added

The Vice President said there was a big risk the country could breakup and be “finish” if government officials do not rally behind the IGAD peace agreement to implement it in full, calling on some politicians and commanders to put personal interests to the side.

“Ladies and gentleman, especially we the politicians here because if we have divided over this agreement because of different interpretation or because of different personal interests, then finish, we will fail to coexist,” The Vice President said.

Advise from regional leader

The Vice President also said he had received advise from the Ugandan President urging the South Sudanese leadership to focus on the peace, warning that those who are against peace are the same people who will tomorrow be against the government when they go hungry.

“These same people who are actually demonstrating against this agreement in the streets, tomorrow when they go hungry they will be the people to turn, demonstrating against the government,” said the VP.

The VP concluded by saying there is no agreement in this world that is 100% perfect, however people have to accept the agreement that will bring peace and unite the country.

“There is no agreement that is 100 percent. So you have to stomach some of the things for the sake of peace and coexistence of South Sudanese,” Wani Igga told listeners.

According to the IGAD compromise peace agreement Wani Igga would maintain his position as Vice President and would work together with an executive leadership which would include President Salva Kiir and Riek Machar as the First Vice President.

The government would take 53% share of the central government meanwhile the armed opposition would gunner 33%, with the Former Political Detainees taking 7% and other political parties given 7%.

The capital Juba will be demilitarised and become the seat of the Transitional  Government of National Unity which will be formed in 3 month time from the day of signing the peace agreement and would end with general elections in 3 years time.

“Please whatever your reservations let those be the reservations that we have all committed to upon for records purposed but the holistic results should be that, we support the agreement,” Wani Igga said, urging his colleagues to support peace and drop any reservations or keep it for record purposes only.

I know Equatoria are good to talk freely if there is no threat behind what they want to say. Wani Igga is a double dealer between Dr.Riak and Kiir Kuethpiny, he never stand a lone. Please talk to Paul Malong, Kuol Manyang and Makuey Lueth to adhere with peace agreement. they should respect you because they are your junior staffs.

South Sudan has three region one illegal president and two Vice Presidents. Machado should be president of Greater Upper Nile region. Want the president of Equatoria. Region and incompetent Kiiir can move to Bar El Gazhal. Should regional wars continue Bar El Gazhal would be invaded either by Upper Nile alone or in alliance with Equatoria. The Dinka’s JCE has all their plants leading to this but the rest of South Sudanese are hopeful that there’s unity to be fostered. Remember what North Sudan did to the South before and after Sudan independence, it’s no different to what is happening now.

Smart little man, Tell the confused -national-traitors (Incompetent killer Kiir, Kuol Manyang, Malong Awan, Makuei liar, Philip Aguer, Ambrose Riing, Bona Malual, and their blind followers) like it is. These thugs, braggarts, cold-blooded killers, and land grabbers will eminently soon bow and publicly beg for mercy from all the patriots tribes they had viciously wronged and betrayed.

Ha, ha,……Wani has not been demoted but circumvented. His post of Vice President was redundant, just like an anthill!

The proposed post of First Vice President is just unique; Wani has been left with his old post of Vice President without any power to wield really!
