August 18, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) – In a surprising turn of events that could send shockwaves down nerves of officials in the government of President Salva Kiir, The Government of Uganda has on Tuesday released a statement calling on all the warring parties in South Sudan to sign peace agreement immediately and put their country above their personal interest and personal egos.

Speaking to media in Ugandan capital Kampala, the government spokesperson said his government was just part of the mediation and expected all parties involved to take responsibility of putting their country first.

“The Ugandan government knows how strenuous it is to achieve peace between belligerents, especially when the belligerents have big egos and when those belligerents put their personal egos above national interests,” Ugandan government spokesperson Shaban Bantariza told media in the Capital Kampala.

The statement could up the pressure on President Salva Kiir’s who’s already under massive pressure regionally and internationally for failing to sign IGAD peace agreement to bring peace to his young country.

A close ally of President Museveni, Kiir’s government depends on Uganda for military support to fight the opposition.

The statement from the Ugandan government which comes just one day after a peace agreement was reached in the Ethiopian Capital Addis Ababa to stop the war in South Sudan indicates growing frustration by regional countries and international partners over lack of will by warring parties to end the current conflict ravaging the worlds youngest nations of South Sudan.

Fighting in the young nation has left more than 10 thousand dead, while more than 2 million civilians have been displaced from their homes with thousands more fleeing as refugees and internally displaced.

The IGAD regional body have been hosting a peace talks to end the conflict and together with the international community had given the warring sides until 17th August to reach a compromise agreement brokered by IGAD-PLUS, African Union, UN, US and several partner countries.

However South Sudan’s President Kiir failed to sign the agreement, while the rebel leader representing SPLM in the opposition Riek Machar and another SPLM Secretary General Pagan Amum representing former political detainees decided to sign the compromise peace agreement.

Salva Kiir told mediators at the last minute that he needed another 15 days to consult and would return to put his signature on the peace agreement, however the president initialled the agreement.

The Ugandan government spokesperson said his country and others could only mediate the parties to reach agreement, but the outmost responsibility of putting the country first and above personal interests lies solely with the South Sudanese themselves.

“We can only continue to mediate, to encourage every side to realise that their country is superior to every one of them individually,” he added.

Uganda’s UPDF should halt providing life support to the killer Kiir’s genocidal regime immediately in order for the incompetence Kiir and cohorts to sign peace deal with the freedom fighters movement.

George Atoo attempted killing of Dr.Riek Machar under the fall allegation of attempted coup was all done by Museveni. Now that they are under pressure with Kii, he is just trying to run away. This time Museveni should be punish for killing the people of south Sudan at all cost.

The words of museveni should be taken with suspicion. He may be cooking some thing for the rebels. Ok. now museveni is out. International community is supporting peace. all opposition parties of south sudan are supporting peace. Who is opposing the peace? the thieves & criminals of Juba. They should be punished for that. IGAD should intervene this time. Who gave few criminals the right to kills & suffer the whole south sudanese?

salvar kiir you are call a president not independent president to another person from another country
if you know that you don’t manage to rule your people ,then give the chance to the rest of leaders who want to rule there country with faith ,love ,unity to the citizen and prosperity with out treating the citizen with war every time
if we know that you will lead the country that way ,we would have to fought for unity with the north sudan
because we where hoping that we are out of being a salve of arabs ,but know you increase the suffering of south sudan than before

If it is the reality as it is already posted that Ugandan government sent the very strong message to the government of South-Sudan to put his signature on all proposal which has been signed by Machar and SG.Pagan Amum. Every one MUST to know that for good the president of republic of South-Sudan was declined not to sign the paper because of Yopweri and Dinkas council behind they were not completed their tactics with Kiir and Yoweri So from there let the World as whole know that because there is no ways out for them to do next. For sure all the problems in Youngest Nation are under the Yoweri the same true when those days come to me there will be another plan for Kiir and Yoweri so very soon there will another proposal which will come from the government and his counterpart Yoweri and other top official government plus Dinkas councils that he requested more time to be given to him in order to completed every things . Because Yoweri has cooked his brain since Dec-15 up to date meaning that he want to know the weakness of Kiir too much confusing after all . So Have you see now what is behind to his statement he is going to push Kiir to sign the deal because he very clear that the World as whole know that the victim is Yoweri that is why he was trying to dictator world body telling them if my new proposal which I was planned and event the great surprise fall on him while the meeting is not completed such that his proposal is not used so totally he ran out of Meeting hall before time for him is 100 percent he know that their deal between him and Kiir is also over that is why again he wants to make cooperation with Machar. Waliaaaaa he will not and he could get any things from Machar let them wait the world human right for the cluster boom which has been used in Bor(Jonglei state )
