Shalikashvili.

March 31, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — A list of retired senior military leaders, mostly former major and brigadier generals of U.S army, including the former Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Henry Shelton, call on president Obama, Ambassador Rice and Secretary John Kerry to step up their efforts to impose sanctions and arms embargo on South Sudan.

“As retired military leaders who have dedicated our lives to defending freedom, we urge the U.S to redouble its efforts to end the ongoing violent conflict in South Sudan” the retired seniors urged Obama administration.

The seniors are concerned that enough suffering has been inflicted on the people of South Sudan and therefore U.S must act now to save the country and the region.

The military leaders have also observed that the destabilization of South Sudan will also present threat to America and American citizens in the region, and thus it must be swiftly put to an end.

“It is our moral and security interests to stem the flow of weapons and funds fueling this conflict. And so we urge the U.S to lead the UN Security Council in swiftly implementing the newly adopted sanctions resolutions, instituting an arms embargo to keep weapons from flowing into the country, and publicly identifying the people responsible for perpetuating the violence and committing heinous atrocities”. part of the letter reads.

The retired generals further remind Obama administration that more than 4 millions people in South Sudan are in urgent need of aid, hundreds of thousands have been forced to flee their homes, and thousands have lost their lives.

The proposal was endorsed by more than 60,000 Christians, who see sanctions and arms embargo as the best alternative to ending the suffering of the people of South Sudan, who have suffered for many years.

Other retired senior generals who signed the letter include Maj. Gen. Buford “Buff” Blount, Maj.Gen. Roger R. Blunt, Maj. Gen George Buskirk, Maj. Gen. Michael Dunn, Brig. Gen. Pat Foote, Brig. Gen. John Watkins,JR, Rear Admiral Stuart Platt, Read Admiral Alan M. Steinman, among others.

Sanctions wouldn’t help and will not affect elite SPLM-IO nor government in JUba. Those who will suffer enough are people in general and particularly those in the big cites.Rural Areas need only clean water and healthcare, but roads and not very important now.

Many people around South Sudan whom stand together with the failed president Slava Kiir thinking that,Sanctions will affect all southsudan citizens which is white liars. We are here supporting sanctions, because without sanctions southsudan will never meet it’s diversity.USA,EU,UK,and others world powers Countries, were the once supported southsudan to be independent. This is the actual time for them to get what they were supporting. Is it true that, aperson gives birth to achild and other come by taking the child his/her future befor father? And what do you think if the father heard about things that other people are doing to his/her child? Sanction is the option to save SouthSudan from EAC.Thank Kuong Mut Student of Science & Technology Kenya.

Mr. Agumut, the ordinary civil population do not have assets and bank accounts in foreign countries. The civilians do not own anything at all compared to billions your friends siphoned from our country. Get out of this forum.

My friends, you’re talking nonsense, the US itself is scared to death the war that is on the way. Perhaps they (US) and its allies should seek help from UN to fight the terrorist.

The US days a the world corrupt police is over and yes regional war in East Africa will dampened their regional alliances from Uganda to Somalia and upwards to the region of N-Sudan’s Darfur where they(US) have a strategic interest concerning North Africa and its Islamist terrorist activities. This is a nightmare for U.S foreign policy makers. The US can facilitate a new government of nation unity for South Sudan in order to minimized losses and maintaining relations with the region. Sanctions on South Sudan government will be effective to a minimum and are far better than doing nothing at all.

Nuers just face it. Next time you will never attempt another coup and armed rebellions and then run to foreign countries for helps. Your behavior in South Sudan has gone too far. Every time the Nuers armed rebelled since the time of Gai Tut, to Riek Machar 1991 tribal armed rebellion and now this! Don’t you Nuer people have brains?

Do the Nuers think, the US is that stupid to not study Riek Machar and several other Nuer goons that are addicted to aimless armed rebellions? If Riek Machar didn’t run out Juba and then declared himself the leader of the tribal armed rebellion, this mess would have been contained in Juba—–and everybody with a brain knows this. But the Nuer lack of thinking things through brought this mess and now they believed everybody else in the world believed their bullsh!ts!

Yes, the US wants a regime change in South Sudan, but it is not going to happen as long as we are alive and kicking, trust this. Let the US issues arms embargo, but South Sudanese people will still get arms anyway.

Where do you goons think you get your arms from, if you not are being sly armed and you goons continue to called for a legitimate government to fold its arms and watch you Nuer criminals destroy and loot other people’s properties, just like you did in Bor, Malakal and Bentiu? South Sudan will not be destroyed like Libya on our watch Nuer people.

Since the beginning of the SPLm/A in 1980th, the SPLA didn’t get it arms from the US, but was able to capture almost the whole South Sudan until Riek Machar undid what was achieved. So the Nuers craving that the US will change the elected government of South Sudan and put in a puppet like their Riek Machar is a wishful thinking.

Should the US play around, then there will be no South Sudan. South Sudan will be better off like Somalia than to let corporate America criminals run amok in South Sudan, plain and simple.

Second We don’t like to rebel but your uncle or father or what’s ever you call him that’s the man who force us to rebel but let me tell you my friend don’t play with Nuer if your smart enough keep it that will benefit our nation but We are not stupid as you are saying.

If Nuer planned for the coup, the Dinkas will be away for good, but you plan it to be call the coup, and you fail too. The bulls of Nuer walk from Juba till they reach the Nuer land, and they came back. Can Dinkas do that? No.
Gai Tut is fighting for independent of South that you come after it, the same to Dr. Riek in 1991, you guys for unity of Sudan not for the South. Now the sanction will wash out your husband Uganda and we will get you ladies. Our arm we get from you when you run and left them behind, they brought them with our resource, the most productive oil is from our land. Gun is gun when is carried by man, not women like you, shame on you good equipment’s while the people are cowards.

I Think the sanction wouldn’t solved anything but it is going to harms those civilians more than the leadership in my view. I thought the U.S should have find another ways of bringing peace in South Sudan just like the way they did in 2005. I don’t think this is a right moved to sanction the country that had just gained independence three years ago. South Sudan nation is like a child that, need help from both parents in order to grow up but the Idea of putting sanction on Young nation is absolutely ridiculous and it doesn’t make any sense at all.Imagine, could you tell your kids who are three years Old, that you will never feeding them? I am wondering what make the most powerful nations to rushing quickly to put sanction on South Sudan while, the regime of Sudan have had been killing 3 million people in Sudan for two decades and the Khartoum’s government is still continues murdering Nubians people, Darfurians people and the people of Blue Nile region yet, the world leaders wouldn’t says anything so that it will stop Sudan’s government from killing innocents. The Khartoum’s government has been violating the International law by bombing the citizens of South Sudan for many times even last year 2014, the UN. and the International community does nothing to prevent Omar al Bashir. If you are a Pro rebels and having thoughts sanctions will be only applying to South Sudan’s government then, you are joking, if that happen thus, you will see rebels will be sanction equally as South Sudan’s government. .

Second to that, the majority of Southern Sudanese people are widely opposite with the moved by the UN. The Southern Sudanese people are accusing European for interference in South Sudan Affairs and they are strongly opposite for that sanction which the rebels having been lobbying UN. and others European nations. Basically, the Southern Sudanese people don’t supports moved led by UN.Security council because of one thing which is Young nation who is lacking air-forces to defending itself from any threat. If truly that sanction has to be put on South Sudan nation then, it mean the International community don’t care what can happen to the Young nation. In addition to that, the sanction will hurts relationship between people of South Sudan and the outsider world.

Finally, for those Southern Sudanese who are allege supporting sanction to put on South Sudan by hoping to gains something on it. I am telling you brothers to take this example, after when peace agreement was signed in 2005 and the former rebels enter South Sudan cities, the Sudan’s government asked UN. and the others European nations to lift up the sanction saying, this sanction will harms both South Sudan and the Northern Sudan but the SPLM in South Sudan part disagree completely and the president of Sudan told SPLM to go ahead and we will sees how that will works, immediately the sanction did hurts both Northern Sudan and the South Sudan led by the SPLM who were supporting sanction. It is very foolishly Idea to supports sanction on South Sudan’s government while, you have people living in Juba’s camp,Unity compound,Malakal camp and they need food rations how they gets food from UN if the South Sudan was fully giving sanction? Think about the South Sudan’s government have all rights to expelling all organizations working inside South Sudan nation to get out and how your people will gets food rations? Please keep singing about sanction that will only harms South Sudan’s government however, you must first thinks big and logically because this sanction will be apply to both rebels and the current government in South Sudan and the refugees are the one to suffers most how that sound to you unless you are in exile but not care about people living in Juba and others UN compounds leave about the ordinary citizens in the communities.

Ghol and Magol, i wonder if your mind are in good condition. Ghol said SPLA since 1980th almost captured the whole South Sudan but Riek Machar undo all achieved in 1991. If this is true how come you complained that you won the victory in 1991 war can you see if this two are matching? Yes i can agree with you that a sanction may affected citizen but they are already affected. I know this sanction is to individual but those individual will grape money from local citizen for the pocket money which will consider a yugh losses to civilian properties. i.e Kiir bough 20 bus to run bussiness from Juba to Kampala, Now he begins intimidating all bus companies and citizen to board and use only his company
