Taban’s Camp Declared Nonexistent In Ruweng

March 28, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— A faction of SPLM-IO under the leadership of First Vice President Taban Deng Gai is hit by another defection in Parieng, Ruweng State in former Unity State. We have collectively resigned from the SPLM-IO and joined the SPLM-IG under the leadership of Cde Salva Kiir Mayardit for the sake of peace and stability in our country, reads a one-paragraph statement signed by eight (8) Ruweng officials who have rendered their resignation to Taban Deng Gai. The statement says their resignation has ended Taban’s presence in Ruweng State.

“In accordance with the historic decision made by Hon. Molana, Thieji  De Adwad Deng, Governor of Ruweng State, We remain in SPLM-IO IN Ruweng State do here support and confirm his resignation and therefore we decalare our collective resignation from SPLM-IO and renounce our rejoining SPLM mainstream under the leadership of Cde Salva Kiir Mayardit in order to achieve peace and stability in our Country, therefore, we declare that no more SPLM-IO in Ruweng State,” reads the statement.

Those who signed the resignation document include:-

  3. Goch Minyiel
  4. Yuhana Koch Marial
  5. Malual Gajang Tongdiet
  6. Wan Bul Mayom
  7. Andrew Kur Tiop
  8. Daniel Dong Wai

Thieji De Adwad Deng, Governor of Ruweng State in the SPLM-IO under the leadership of Taban defected from Taban and joined the SPLM under Kiir’s leadership a few days ago, but his resignation was neither denied nor confirmed by General Taban.
