April 06, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– South Sudan’s former Vice President, Chairman and Commander in Chief of SPLM/SPLA in Opposition, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, regrets that he may not return to Juba as proposed by the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC).
According to JMEC calendar, the First Vice President, was to arrive in the capital in five days, on April 12th, to expedite the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity, however, to Machar this is not workable.
In a letter addressed to JMEC Chairman, Festus G. Mogae, the Chairman of the armed opposition will only travel to Juba on the 18th of April as planned by the SPLM/SPLA-IO.
“I acknowledge receipt of your letter reference JMEC/C/2016/C26 dated 5th April 2016 proposing my arrival for Tuesday 12th April 2016; the inauguration of the Transitional Government of National Unity for Thursday 14th April 2016 and the first meeting of the Transitional Council of Ministers for 15th April 2016. This plan would not be workable. We have programmed my arrival for April 18tth 2016. As for other issues you have raised, these would be concluded after my arrival” Machar said.
While appreciating the progress made during the last few days transporting the SPLA-IO components of the Integrated Police, Presidential Guards and shared Command Unite, the IO chairman look forwards to the transportation of the SPLA-IO weapons to Juba before his arrival.
According to JMEC calendar, the armaments of the SPLA-IO will be transported to Juba by the end of this week to meet the minimum threshold for the return of the IO leader to form the Transitional Government of National Unity.
In other reports, despite the ongoing confrontations of the two rival forces in Warrap and Western Equatoria, the SPLM/SPLA-IO deputy chairman, 1st. Lt. General, Alfred Lado Gore, could arrive in Juba this weekend.

I believe Dr.Riek has choice to set up the date for his arrival in South Sudan’s capital Juba. This is because he had been coerced to became fugitive in his own country that he had worked to be independent. He’s democratic man who is fighting for federalism in the country.
Chol Y let my tell u plize even Juba you may not be there the day Dr.will come otherwise u’re talking in Aweil or Warrap. shuot you mouth up.
CHOL,barking dog should not stop the moving camel, you’re like a dog. Even if you use the media threaten DR machar will not stop coming to juba by all means because juba is not for dinka nor nuer its for south sudanese ingeneral, you would never aterm to isolate any south sudanese citizen to stay in juba
good news, We welcome DR machar with all forces back to our Country and all citizens are looking for the reform and peaceful settlement across South Sudan.
