April 9, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — In response to the Former Political Detainees (FPD), the office of the Press Secretary of President Salva Kiir calls on the SPLM-G10 to accept the extension of the government’s lifespan.

The Press Secretary, Ateny Wek Ateny, narrates that the extension of the government’s lifespan “furthers the cause of peace and building of prosperity” in the country.

“The extension of the current government of South Sudan’s lifespan furthers the cause of peace and the building of prosperity and security for the people of South Sudan.” Ateny Wek said.

“Therefore, the so called G10 or Former Political Detainees (FPD) statement to the effect was just a literature since it wasn’t based on legal grounds”.

Mr. Wek, who is a lawyer by profession, reminds the FDs that the South Sudanese people are building roads, improving education and the health systems in the country.

“We must continue building roads, and improving our education and health system. H.E. President Kiir must lead the country forward while at the same time leading us to peace.” Ateny said.

Ateny repeats that the extension of Salva Kiir’s leadership for three more years was a constitutional process and thus must not be challenged by exiled politicians.

“The recent extension of this government’s lifespan was based on constitution and the necessity and so it cannot be challenged by unconstitutional group living in exile” Mr. Wek said.

Ateny reiterates that his government is working hard to restore peace and therefore people must be patient, adding that the government will “deliver happier, safer and more prosperous future” for the people of South Sudan.

“We will do everything in our power to further peace. What we won’t do, however, is to accept short-term and short-sighted solution at the expense of committing ourselves to finding the more difficult but more durable solutions” Ateny added.

“We are all eager to have this period of history of wars behind us. But we must have the courage to be patient. The Government of South Sudan will deliver a happier, safer, more prosperous future for the people of South Sudan” Ateny reiterates.

“Please continue to pray for peace” The Press Secretary said.

The Press Secretary believes that the south Sudanese deserve to enjoy the splendor that the independence of the country has brought, however, he urges the ten million population to be patient and pray for peace.

South Sudan, which attained its independence from the North in 2011, has spent its four years of independence in war.

The current conflict between the factions of the ruling SPLM party, which broke out in December 2013, has displaced nearly 2 millions people, and left more than half of the population craving for humanitarian assistance. Tens of thousands have been killed.

You mean Y he look like “the 1-Eyed king among da blind?”

The answer is simple, he has accepted IO defeat and looks resigned and finally relaxed and confused 100%.

He is at the end of his rope of lies and manipulations.

No supprise because it is just how one-eye-people talks. Ateny could not see the future properly, instead, he is comfortable with th current corrupt-tribal government of Mr. Kiir which need to be remove and replace with South Sudanese’s Federal government of Dr. Riak Machar Teny

Common folks!
You cannot talk about someone’s disability like that. I do believe that we have relatives who have such disability. I don’t think that he called this upon himself to be one-eyed. Neither did he lose his eye in war to warrant being a laughing stock. You can attack the issue he has discussed, but not his sight!. Remember the Nuer saying that God never stop creating you until the day you die. Do you know what that means? Don’t laugh at people with disabilities!

There is sign advertisement at Ministry of Education at round about near Equatoria governor office which say ”It is a time for education in foreign country” where is education you are talking about if it is a time to educate at foreign country. Second, your president said he is not going to compensate those displaced, what do you think could happen if they came out? Nyaluak, you are right but not all disabilities fit for position. We can not vote to a blind man to lead our country as president, this does not mean he is not a human being. Nuer said what you mention concerning ordinary person with a disability but this man is not a ordinary man.
