April 25, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s warring leaders must strike a compromise deal, the European Union’s aid chief said Saturday, warning the international community was running out of patience over the country’s civil war.

“The war and the blame games must stop, and they must stop now — it is high time for peace,” said EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid Christos Stylianides, after travelling to both government and opposition strongholds in the war torn country to plead with leaders to end fighting.

South Sudan’s civil war started in December 2013, when President Salva Kiir accused Riek Machar, who had been sacked as vice president, of attempting a coup. Peace talks brokered by regional powers collapsed in March.

“The international community is becoming very frustrated,” Stylianides told AFP, although he declined to say whether the EU would make further sanctions on military or political leaders, after placing asset freezes and travel bans last year on two commanders on both sides.

“I come from Cyprus, and so I know well what problems ethnic violence can cause,” he added, referring to the division of the Mediterranean island between Greeks and Turks.

“All of us have our narratives of our history, but the most important things are peace and security. War is no solution, compromises must be made.”

He said forces on all sides had to ensure aid workers could access those affected — and were not themselves attacked.

“They need access to vulnerable communities and the victims… and all players on the ground on all sides must safeguard that access,” he said.

The war that is devastating the world’s youngest nation has killed tens of thousands of people, analysts and experts say. It has also left over half of the country’s 12 million people in need of aid, according to the United Nations.

“It is very painful to see such difficult circumstances on the ground. The eyes of the mothers of the malnourished children, circumstances that cannot be accepted as a human,” he said after visiting a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders in Leer, an opposition town in the northern Unity state that is cut off by government troops.

“The international community is here to help but cannot support development if there is no peace,” said at the end of a three day visit.

Over two million South Sudanese have fled the fighting, with over 520,000 of those now refugees neighbouring Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya and Uganda.

“South Sudan’s civil war started in December 2013, when President Salva Kiir accused Riek Machar, who had been sacked as vice president, of attempting a coup. Peace talks brokered by regional powers collapsed in March.”

The above quoted paragraph should read as follow:
South Sudan’s civil war started in December 2013, when the presidential guards of mixed ethnicities clashes amongst themselves causing a rip and support of one another along tribal lines.

Technically the so called president accused his former vp of an attempt coup after the guards clashed. The next announcement was a dust to down curfew followed by a door to door search, identify, and destroying every Nuer the presidential guards finds.

The sacking of the vp has nothing to do with the civil war because it happened months before the civil war and the former vp was perfectly find with the decision mr incompetent kiir.

The world should just ask kiir to step down or force him out of power because he committed crimes against humanity simple. Condemning the culprits of massacres and the victim in the same sentence will not work.

You are wrong if you are thinking that I am favoring or nepotistic towards Machar & Nuers. I see both as victims whose citizenry & as well as human rights have been violated. Convince me otherwise & the nature of our conversation MIGHT change but until than you can keep on barking like the poop devouring dog that you are.

Hello Respective Readers:
Only one reason why I am not a fan of Riek is that he killed many of my Nuer people than any other South Sudan leaders dead or alive. In other words he killed many of my Nuer people in 2013 until now whether directly or indirectly all same results to killings than Kiir. Riek name became physiological disease in our Nuer society which is now very difficult to cure and most of us as Nuers are the doctors of this disease to cure It.

PLEASE LET BE KNOW THAT RIEK IS VERY CRIMINAL since he was a little boy. Riek must make wisely comprises and peaceful giving In as he always used to be known in the history of South Sudan.
To be honest Riek and his idiots group will died trying and Riek will never never come the president of South Sudan no matter what he does. This Is a fact and reality.

No matter what the some west express Riek must to drop his criminal demands of federalism, two stupid armies and 21 states and other craziness ideas which will never work as he proposed. Riek must accept the deals as the thirds vice president which he always needed since he liked to be the second or third or last leader. All of which have no executive powers period loud and clear.

RIEK IS A SLEEPWALKING DEAD LEADER WITH BIG NO REALISTICS RESULT AND NO VISION.
As I observed It is very easily to kill Riek In Addis Ababa than In south Sudan.
His white wife Emma knew the ending result….haaa haaa haaa haaa

Free and Fair Elections
Free and fair elections allow people living in a representative democracy to determine the political makeup and future policy direction of their nation’s government.
• Free and fair elections increase the likelihood of a peaceful transfer of power. They help to ensure that losing candidates will accept the validity of the election’s results and cede power to the new government.
• Elections alone do not assure democracy since dictators can use the resources of the state to tamper with the election process.
• Free and fair elections require:
° Universal suffrage for all eligible men and women to vote — democracies do not restrict this right from minorities, the disabled, or give it only to those who are literate or who own property.
° Freedom to register as a voter or run for public office.
° Freedom of speech for candidates and political parties — democracies do not restrict candidates or political parties from criticizing the performance of the incumbent.
° Numerous opportunities for the electorate to receive objective information from a free press.
° Freedom to assemble for political rallies and campaigns.
° Rules that require party representatives to maintain a distance from polling places on election day — election officials, volunteer poll workers, and international monitors may assist voters with the voting process but not the voting choice.
° An impartial or balanced system of conducting elections and verifying election results — trained election officials must either be politically independent or those overseeing elections should be representative of the parties in the election.
° Accessible polling places, private voting space, secure ballot boxes, and transparent ballot counting.
° Secret ballots — voting by secret ballot ensures that an individual’s choice of party or candidate cannot be used against him or her.
° Legal prohibitions against election fraud — enforceable laws must exist to prevent vote tampering (e.g. double counting, ghost voting).
° Recount and protestation procedures — legal mechanisms and processes to review election processes must be established to ensure that elections were conducted properly.
• Voting methods — varying by country and even within countries — include:
° Paper ballots — votes are marked on or punched through paper.
° Ballots with pictures of candidates or party symbols so that illiterate citizens may cast the correct vote.
° Electronic systems — voters use touch-screen or push-button machines.
° Absentee ballots — allowing those who will not be able to vote on Election Day to cast their ballots prior to the election.

It happened that people lost sight with a Nuer guy who is in G11, the formers corrupted ministers, who drafted the constitution and left out proposed term limit. This guy is a one of an evil doer in South Sudan. Cowardly, he did not put term limit in a debate, in order for us SS to put in the history book who that guy refused the term limit to stay in constitution. This is a main core of democracy system. It can give the people reason to wait for corrupting president term limit to be over, without resorting to violent.
Nuer people are killing people direct or indirect. It is very easy for them to be too loyal to his/her master or too easy to rebel without a profound legitimate reason.
President Kiir term limit would had been expired long time ago, and the good person would had been elected to try his/her given talent to run the Country. Lord a mercy, hear us.

Those butchers in Juba started butchering Nuers by the thousands indiscriminately for a weeks on ends, they were not armed beside those particular Nuers were part of the clashed presidential guards. Had the Nuers from other parts of South Sudan not responded by resisting against such plans of ethnic cleansing more and more massacre would have continue to meet other Nuers in parts of the country nation wide. I am assuming you prefer they die without defending themselves from such an evil. What do you think it matter for a Nuer who realize such plan is the case against him and all his family, tribe mates and or community. Ofcourse one would chose to die armed while he/she have a fighting chance of defending his/her life. If they die fighting or die mercilessly in the hands of those who condemned them to death it really makes no different how because death is death. Now that they are armed its taking you months and maybe years trying to execute more massacres and I am hoping that you will fail which for me and many Nuers makes a world of the difference.
