April 19, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– Anxious and somehow disappointed that the rebel leader is taking too long to return, many South Sudanese are eagerly waiting wherever they are to see Dr. Riek Machar Teny, the First Vice President, landing in the small capital city of Juba.

To many people Dr. Machar’s return means peace, stability and economic recovery for the country, however, his opponents cast doubts of what is likely to transpire before the next election in 2018.

The country’s first vice president, who is now returning as a First Vice President Designate, is expected to arrive any time soon, however, his military officers are expected to land before him and his delegates.

According to the spokesman of Dr. Riek Machar, SPLA-IO Chief of General Staff, 1st. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, who was expected to arrive in the capital on Sunday is expected to leave Gambella Ethiopia to Juba South Sudan.

Gen. Gatwech is expected to lead a troop of 200 soldiers, who will participate in welcoming the chairman, Dr. Riek Machar, later today.

“Forces of Riek Machar led by his chief of staff General Simon Garwich are now at Gambella airport ready to leave for Juba. The troops are about 200 hundred, all in uniform.” Nyarji said.

Despite the mixed reaction, the SPLA-IO military spokesman, Col. William Gatjiath Deng, promised that Machar’s arrival means peace.

“Their priorities will be harmony between them and the government troops and assuring peace in South Sudan.” Gatjiath reportedly said.

According to the spokesman, Dr. Machar is expected to land in Juba at around 11 am this morning.

In both Juba and Gambella, supporters and sympathizers are gathering to welcome the chairman and witness his inauguration process to become the country’s First Vice President upon his arrival.

Despite skepticism from both sides including the president, who has already declared his candidacy for 2018 election, Machar’s return to the capital is seen as the only quick fix to end the conflict and set the country once again on the right path.

In other reports, United Nations advise its personals to minimize their movements around Juba as the country’s first vice president arrives.

“Therefore, no movement in the city beyond 09:00 until UN Security advises when staff may commence movement in the city,” reads the advisory.

“UN personnel are advised to avoid movement on routes in the immediate vicinity of the Presidential Palace, Ministries Road and up to John Garang Mausoleum,” adds the notice.

Machar, who has been the country’s First Vice President at independent, was sacked and hosted in a military violence that has seen many members of his ethnic Nuer killed by presidential guards in Juba in mid December 2013, which triggered a full scale civil war that has lasted two and half years..

UNMISS should be present all over Juba. The job is to be present. A calming force observing and reporting. Making sure that peace prevails. Helping to make a smooth transition to peace.

it is so stupid to wait for killer at such days and we must analyst the situation of so called Dr.Riek which exactly means his names as bad devils in the society and of such we must avoid a leader who does not mind about the lives of his people who are supporting him.the supporters are so stupid to wait for that long which cannot even benefit them at all and I would like advise my fellow south Sudanese to be serious with their lives because the guy u are waiting is the wrong ones .
