October 02, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s current Vice President James Wani Igga has made a strong appeal to the international community to hurry and support South Sudan with Humanitarian aid, saying the government could no longer do it on it’s own due to lack of resources.
While addressing the UN general assembly Wani Igga said the war in South Sudan had now ended with the signing of the recent IGAD peace agreement, saying his government was now committed to implement the peace agreement as agreed.
“I seize this opportunity to appeal to all friends and supporters of South Sudan to rapidly step in to back up the process of humanitarian assistance, rehabilitation, peace building and national reconstruction” Wani Igga said in an appeal at the UN General Assembly attended by world leaders.
Wani Igga was at the UN representing his country at the UN General Assembly after President Salva Kiir boycotted the event accusing the international community of treating him like a “school boy”.
Salva Kiir’s government is said to be on an international appeal for Humanitarian aid and development funding from the international community at the UN General Assembly meeting, as the country’s economy has been hit by civil war and insecurity.
The country’s oil production has plummet as international oil prices dropped to low figures and nearly half of all oil fields have been shut down due to fighting.
Meanwhile the Minister in the Office of the President, Awan Riak also called on the US government to render more financial support to South Sudan government.
Awan said Kiir’s government had no money and could not effectively cope with providing services and also implementing the peace agreement without support from the US.
“we cannot make it alone, and we will not succeed alone” Awan Riak said
Awan Riak called on the US to look at South Sudan like it was its child which was about to perish and needs help.
“If they see their child perishing” …. “I do not think that the United States of America would just stand watching things” said the Minister int he office of President Salva Kiir.
The Minister appealed to the US to support South Sudan to restore peace and democracy.
In other reports, the United States has initiated dialogues with the International Monetary Fund and other credible financial groups to rescue South Sudan after peace, according to Bloomberg report.
No sanctions please
Wani Igga also appealed to the international body not to place sanctions on the country and it’s leaders, promising his government was committed to peace.
“As we embark on the implementation of the peace Agreement, sanctions and travel restrictions on our officials should no longer be the option.” he said
“peace and security of the people of South Sudan have been the paramount responsibility of the government.” he reiterates.

Suggest the GOSS cancels any orders of military equipment (rumor has it that the government might spend an additional 500,000,000 USD on more useless weapons. Divert all funds to building the country. If need be, sell off government fleet of luxury cars as a show of good intent also.
