June 19, 2015(Nyamilepedia) — The Kenyans’ President, Uhuru Kenyatta, urges is colleagues in the region, and their international counterparts mediating the South Sudanese conflict to remain impartial in the process to save South Sudan from becoming a failed state.

“let us save South Sudan from becoming a failed state. Let us prevail on President Salva Kiir, his former Vice President Riek Machar and former political detainees to return to the negotiating table.” Kenyatta said.

According to Standard Digital News, the Kenyan president spoke during a courtesy call paid by the China’s representative on Africa Affairs, Zhong Jianhua, and the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Liu Xianfa, who visited Mr. Kenyatta at the state house.

Kenyatta remains his counterparts to speak in one voice while persuading the South Sudanese leaders to save their nation and their people from a deadly conflict that has displaced over two millions people and killed over fifty thousands others.

“We must all speak in one voice and relay the same message on South Sudan if we are to assist the country to regain peace,” the President said.
As the former Vice President, Riek Machar, reiterates in his latest speeches in Johannesburg, South Africa, the region has been unable to mediate the conflict due to regional conflict of interests in South Sudan.
While Uganda controls the army fighting on Salva Kiir’s side, Kenya and other countries in the region control vast majority of property in private sectors.
The Kenyans’ President, who has accommodated South Sudan’s political detainees for more than a year, has deeper understanding of the ruling party’s internal differences, and warns that the mediators should not ignore the root causes of this conflict.
“The crisis in South Sudan started from within the political party – Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) and degenerated into ethnic violence. We have to start from the root cause,” he added.

According to the latest international reports, South Sudan still tops the list as the most fragile state in the world.

These analyses indicate that risk averse investigators would prefer to invest in Somalia and Democratic Republic of Congo than in South Sudan.

South Sudan conflict broke out in December 2013 during the SPLM National Liberation Council(NLC) meeting in Juba that was convened to resolve the party’s internal conflicts and to prepare SPLM for the first official national elections that were to be held this year, 2015.
