Jan 07, 2016(Nyamilepedia) — A leading politician in SPLM/SPLA in Opposition, Amb. Aguer Rual, questions the appointment of members of parliament representing Warrap State in what would be a Transitional Government of National Unity(TGNU).
According to Ambassador Aguer Rual, the former Military governor of Lol State, currently a senior adviser in SPLM/SPLA-IO Chairman office, the politicians appointed to represent Warrap state in TGNU are not active members of SPLM/SPLA in Opposition and therefore they should not be rewarded.
“the appointed members haven’t played active role and also they are new in the movement and thus no reward for such people” Aguer said.
The former SPLM/SPLA Representative to Australia, Mr. Aguer, believes that some of the appointed MPs lack popular support from Warrap’s IO camp and therefore they should wait.
“they are not member of the SPLM IO and also they have no supporters.” Aguer continued.
According to Aguer, the SPLM/SPLA IO leadership did not consult the native of Warrap State in the opposition and therefore such appointment are contrary to the constitution and norms of the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition.
The adviser calls on his Chairman, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, to nullify such appointments until a popular selection, based on consultations, is finalized for approval by the senior officials from Warrap state.
“As the reasons above are important and can affect our leadership I request the Chairman Dr Riek to revise his decision and give chance to our members for more consultation.” said Aguer Rual, the former Military Governor of SPLM/SPLA-IO’s Lol State.
According to the list presented to JMEC by the IO Chief Negiator, Gen. Taban Deng Gai on Monday, Warrap State would be represented by two officials, Dr. Matueny Mourwel Matueny and Ms. Yolanda Awel Deng.
Hon. Yolanda Awel is the wife of the current military governor of Lol State, Mr. Agel R. Machar.
Similar concerns were also raised on social media by active officials of SPLM/SPLA in Opposition from Jonglei and Unity States.

Let the chairman of the SPLM/A IO consult the influential leaders of those constituencies that he wants to represent the movement in the parliament, example, the case of Mayiandit county is not acceptable, that seat belongs to Jalok community, since kuei are represented by Hon Nyalok James, and Beek are represented by Hon Gatnyoi thoat wel in the parliament while jalok are badly excluded ,this is for them.
William,
Go and chase awayTaker Riek from the areas you claims to be represented in the Government of National Unity. Then you can legitimately blames Dr. Riek for excluding your constituency, after you successfully completed the task, ok
Good call Hon. Aguer!
Dr. Riek should not select people’ representatives dictatorially-without consultations with the said constituencies period
To hell with Dr. Riek’s disastrous, smothering, and appeasement policy.
No, we do not like to pay evil with evil. When we do not appoint them (the jenge) it will be a NEPOTISM and AUTORACY. We are fighting trblism, nepotism, autocracy, so we must appoint those jenge who really follow our agenda of the massive reforms in this country, a jenge must be educated and not arrogant like amen, baak and tolio. Of course the jenge council of elders should be kept away from any decision making of this country. We need to look different from jenge so let us do a right job for this nation
tolio, amen and beek where are you. Hope you are not in the hospital with ISHAL………………..Hahahahahahaha, these poor boys who want practice politics by naming Equatoria mountain call Jebel Lado and they call it jebel dinka……………..OUR EYES ARE OPEN MAN, remember how we kill a chicken please
Next time, the public will selects their own representatives. The current selection is only temporary & we should not expect perfection because the situation does not allow the movement to consult the public. So, as supporters, you need to talk to the SPLM IO leadership not to the media.
