Dec 1, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- Federal Democratic Party and South Sudan Armed Forces (FDP/SSAF), the splinter group of SPLM-IO, categorically denied that its top military General secretly met with a representative of GRSS in an effort to seal a deal that would lead FDP/SSAF into joining the Government. A Press Statement extended to Nyamilepedia by FDP/SSAF Provisional spokesperson Dhoal Larjin corrects the statement published by Sudan Tribune earlier that Gen Peter Gatdet met Government’s envoy in an attempt to return to Juba in capacity of Deputy Commander in Chief of SPLA; a position previously occupied by late Gen Paulino Matip Nhial.
“We want to inform all Sudanese people and the international community that the report on the Sudan Tribune about Gen. Peter Gatdet Yak meeting with government envoy is a false report,” emphasized Dhoal Larjin.
“The Sudan tribune statement is fabricated and does not bear any authentic information. FDP/SSAF military command provisional council has received no official communication from South Sudan government.”
“Gen. Gatdet is a charismatic military leader, and he desires no position in South Sudan government. He has no any interest to occupy Paulino Matip’s position.”
The statement alleges that what has been published is not in any way near the truth but a rumor manufactured by rumor-mongers in the SPLM-IO camp with the aim to confuse the political atmosphere. In the spirit of peace, the GRSS should consult FDP/SSAF through the Government of Kenya for any peaceful settlement between FDP/SSAF and the GRSS.
“If the government is requesting genuine talk, they should consult the Kenyan Government mediate the peace with the FDP/SSAF. For the sake of peace, the FDP/SSAF is willing to meet with South Sudan government and agree on a just agreement and durable peace,” Larjin asserts.
“The stand of our generals is for a genuine peace.The peace that is inclusive of all not for SPLM party. The dialogue for peace in our country will come from the people not from Riek and Salva Kiir because the two leaders are an icon of hate in our country.”
Dhoal Larjin criticizes SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar for negotiating an unproductive peace deal with the killer that forced Nuer to eat the flesh of their loved ones and drink the blood of their kins at gun point. He alleges that the Nuer as the target of Kiir’s misrule rejected the Peace Kiir and Riek signed in August 2015, the lasting peace will come from the people, not from the leaders who let down South Sudanese people.

FDP/SSAF was launched in Khartoum on 11th August 2015 after Gen Peter Gatdet along with his colleagues Gen Gathoth Gatkuoth and Gen Gabriel Tanginye were relieved of their military duties by SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar. The Generals called for re-negotiation of IGAD-Plus mediated talks that would exclude both Salva Kiir and Riek Machar as the two failed to bring about lasting peace to South Sudan. The Arrangement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (ARCISS) initiated by IGAD-Plus was signed on August 2015 in Ethiopia capital Addis Ababa but it’s yet to be implemented.
