Commissioner Says Lopit West County Off Mobile Network Communication

September 30, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— TORIT–The newly created Lopit west County of Imotong State is off network communication, says Hon. Severino Loful Hobon commissioner of the county. Commissioner Loful disclosed to the authority in Torit that Lopit west County was having only MTN network but as per now is not operating which according to the commissioner is difficult to share the information with the headquarter in Torit the capital state of Imatong. He said there were only few radio calls in five locations of Harihilo, Imehejek, Longiro Lolongo and Lohutok Payams but all of them got problems on the handset, batteries and among other problems.

He said his authority is working hard to handling issues to deal with cattle raiders in coordination with the neighbouring state of Namuronyang specially in Lopa County of Imatong and Kapoeta North, Kimotong of Lobuya County of Namuronyang state but faced limitation in poor communication system along with lack of transport means to arrest the cattle raiders and criminal in his county and neighboring counties.

On his concern for the safety of patients in his county, commissioner Loful said his county has only poor health facilities which have been facilitated by Save the Children, an international non-governmental organization based in Imotong state, adding that children are mothers and are dying every day due to poor health facility and limited number of health personal doubling with lack of awareness on malaria and other diseases prevention.

He calls on other Non-Governmental organizations such as Catholic Relief Services (CRS) to assess his areas for easy response mainly on County peace response mechanism or to train focal persons in his county on information sharing from the grassroots to the Headquarters.

He continued,  “just in few days ago we lost five children in Imehejek village following each other before I come here in which I have forwarded the report to Save the Children to go and make assessment on the samples of the diseases that caused the five death of children”.

Loful appealed to telecommunication companies like Vivacell, Zain and others to establish their networks in Lopit areas to compete with MTN which he said is not performing well in the area.
