Canon Janda Resigned From Kiir’s National Dialogue

May 08, 2017 (Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan National Dialogue decreed by President Slava Kiir suffered a big blow after another Member of the National Dialogue Canon Clement Janda resigned from Steering Committee last week, a dialogue he describes ‘vague’. The Steering Committee of the National Dialogue was formed by the Republican Decree No. 08/2017 on 25 April 2017.

In a statement he signed and seen by Nyamilepedia, Clement says he cannot participate in a dialogue that is not inclusive and alleges that any dialogue that has drained the national wealth is not serious and cannot be accepted. According to him, a credible national dialogue can only be exercised in a freedom atmosphere inclusive of every voice and is of the view that a national dialogue is not a replacement of political process and cannot be carried out by a handpicked individuals.

“A genuine Dialogue must be done after a political process and by a limited elected persons with the authority to air the views of their communities. Being handpicked makes every individual only loyal to President Salva Kiir and not to their communities. Such a process is worthless,” stated Clement.

The question to ask, he continues, is who to dialogue with, the country is bleeding and half of the population is forced to live in the neighboring countries as refugees or chased to PoCs across the country. The national dialogue steering committee is made up of the people who helped President Salva Kiir to destroy South Sudan, such people can only be taken to ICC for trial, not to serve as a member of the committee of a nation.
