Mading Aweil Diasporans Condemn Malong’s Removal, Call On Sons To Desert Kiir’s Army

May 13, 2017 (Nyamilepedia) —— Mading Aweil community in the United States, Europe, Australia, Middle East and Africa condemned the removal of former chief of general staff Gen. Paul Malong Awan and called upon the sons and daughters in uniform to abandon South Sudan army until further directives, states a statement released to Nyamilepedia and signed by Nyanut Bol who did not identify his leadership role in Mading Aweil community in Diaspora.

The statement reads in part that the Aweil community in Diaspora condemned in the strongest term possible the negative behaviors of the so-called Akol Koor and his sycophants. According to the statement that reflects the views of the people in worldwide, although the change in the army is a normal function of the President of the Republic, this one is seen by the community Members worldwide as a politically motivated and should be viewed as a move to harm or eliminate Gen.Paul Malong whom Salva Kiir and Akol Koor see as a threat to their leadership.

“Request all the sons and daughters of this community serving in different organs of the army to abandon their position and assemble at the safest points awaiting for further directions from the community. Demand his immediate unhindered journey to his hometown without any Pre condition or further delayed,” states part of the text.

“Asked the sons and daughters of this great community residing outside the country to mobilise fund for transporting Aweil sons serving in the security units across the Nation back home for further discussion. We equally ask you to be on maximum high alert for eventualities happening to Gen. Malong now standed in Yirol.”

Although the statement appreciates the hospitality of the government and the good people of Yirol, it condemns Lt. Gen. James Ajonga Mawut, Malong’s replacement, for conspiring in ousting his former boss in order to become the general chief of staff of South Sudan army. The people of Aweil have been involving in a teleconference meeting this week to find a common voice as to how they should collectively respond to Molong’s situation. And at the time of writing this report, Malong returned to Juba and still asking to be allowed to go to his home in Aweil.

Quite an interesting example Jaang Awiel are setting. Its not the first time a chief of staff is removed thru a decree
