April 21, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —–The trip of SPLA-IO Chief of General Staff, 1st. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, which was expected today, is again postponed.
According to James Gatdet Dak, the Press Secretary of SPLM/SPLA-IO Chairman, Gen. Gatwech could bot travel today due to new demands set on weapons by Salva Kiir’s government.
“The Chief of General Staff of the SPLM/SPLA (IO) army, 1st Lt. Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual – and his troops – could not travel to Juba today, Thursday, as rescheduled due to renewed refusal by President Salva Kiir’s government to transport their weapons to the capital.” Gatdet said.
Although the government compromised to Opposition’s earlier demand of its 200 commandos and commandos to land in Juba before their chairman, the regime has refused to clear “laser guided missiles” PKMs and RPGs of SPLA-IO
According to Gatdet, this is not a new setback and therefore the international community must come in to put more pressure on Salva Kiir’s government.

“The Administration has reneged on yesterday’s understanding to transport the forces and their weapons to Juba today. Regional players and international community at large should put maximum pressure on President Kiir’s government to lift its unnecessary ban on the weapons of our co-national army. it is a clear violation of the security arrangements signed by the parties.” Said Gatdet.
In a meeting of JMEC held on Thursday afternoon in Juba, the peace partners agreed that SPLA/SPLM-IO should be allowed to transport 20 PKMs and 20 RPGs, however, the regime insists that IO should only carry 7 PKMs and 7 RPGs to Juba.
Despite that the international community insists that Machar must arrive in Juba by Saturday, 1st. Lt Gen. Taban Deng Gai warns that the SPLM/SPLA Chairman will only travel to Juba when Kiir’s administration agrees to allow SPLA-IO soldiers and weapons to land.
More civilians and politicians of SPLM/SPLA-IO from Gambella, Ethiopia, arrived this afternoon in Juba.

Do you really expect the International Community to exert more pressure on the government to allow the SPLA-IO to remilitarize Juba?. What a wishful thinking!
You have been demanding for demilitarization of Juba and the International Community was standing alongside the SPLM-IO but now you wanna bring heavy weapons to Juba for another coup attempt and you continue believe that the IC can support your coup plan…no way.
Let me advise you that trust and confidence cannot be built through the armament and more forces of the SPLA-IO in Juba but only through a genuine political dialogue, reconciliation and healing.
NB:The sizeable number of Juba population is now running to the villages upon hearing that Dr. Riek Machar is bringing mortal weapons to Juba.I.e weapons are for war as dialogue is for peace.Isn’t it?
Ahahahah!!!!!!!!!! Akot Mathiang, what a fearful tribe are you? you run into villages by just hearing that 200 Nuer soldier are coming to Juba. Look how cow ward you are, you brought 7 trucks full of soldier and more RPGs plus more PKM and War Tanks plus gun ships but you fear with only 20 RPGs and 20 PKM. I hope kiir will run made tomorrow when international community pressure him to allow those weapons.
Akot, are still living with lies. Even the government that cooked up the coup has accepted that there wasn’t any coup and its talking about it. So you are, how really narrow minded and ethnocentric you are?
People of south Sudan if we really want pace we shouldn’t look onwho will have more PKM or RPGs it true that anyone who is living in juba are living with lies and fear from SPLA-IO , let me put it this way the Mr Killer and his Regime try for three years with their 90%of the south Sudan army along with Ugandan fighting Nuer, few Danka, few Cholo, and few Equatorian while The SPLA – IO have no gun ships no tanks no RPGS no PKM only few AK47 with no supply from no where the very lie is the Coup that was made by the killer himself just to let u know if u said yes or no we are coming to Juba i never say this before now i say it and it must be done by all mean .
