Media War Should Be Avoided, It Benefits Nobody

By Keat Bayak,

International day for peace
International day for peace

Dec 31, 2015 (Nyamilepedia) —- My pleasure to get time to send this piece of information to the entire citizens of South Sudan. I have been going through a lot of articles and comments which tell me that it will take ages for peace to be implemented and for Citizens of South Sudan to eat together like before.

On my own analysis, the biggest mistake the Republic of South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit is the fact that his conscience has been flawed by the so-called Jieng Council of Elders that was formed by one tribe against other tribes in the country. Jieng Council of Elders is a big baggage for the people of South Sudan; the Jieng Council of Elders has its advantages and disadvantages at some point. One disadvantage is that Members of Jieng Council of Elders only look into one side of the coin; they ignore to look at the other side of the same coin. They will only be playing the interest of one community. They will only be playing their own interest which can’t really tell the future of the country. On the other hand, an advantage is that Jieng Council of elders will not betray the President Kiir and loyally protect what they consider as the Jieng’s property (GRSS).

It could have been better if all the 64 tribes form their respective Councils of Elders or such Councils of Elders be transformed and be merged into South Sudan Council of Elders (SSCE) so that individual self-interest cannot be served.

The creation of 28 states is the clean work of Jieng Council of Elders as a mechanism to keep Salva Kiir in power on the expense of other South Sudanese tribes. The 28 states were established based on tribal lines, some tribes lost land to their neighboring tribes building a case for long tribal wars.

I have many reasons to object the creation of 28 state but among these many reasons, I will only highlight only two important reasons:

  1. People of South Sudan have suffered enough for two years in which they need peace. If the creation of additional 18 could have been announced before the crisis, I think, it will be a brilliant idea. The IGAD mediated initiative was based on 10 states that Jieng council of Elders scrapped, anything that changes the previous 10 states is the clear violation of just concluded Peace Agreement between the warring parties of South Sudan.
  2. The abolished 10 states were never developed since 2005; the GRSS did not furnish the South Sudanese as to what caused the underdevelopment of 10 states before the war when we were in peace as a nation. If the reason of underdevelopment of previous 10 states is lack of funding, one would ask the rationale behind the creation of 28 states when only 10 states were unable to be properly. The creation of 28 states will do us more harm than good, and it’s important that all South Sudanese from all spectrum must come up and condemn Kiir’s Establishment Order that created 28 tribal stats.

The devaluation of South Sudan local currency has contributed to the worsening situation; all tribes are affected by Salva Kiir missteps.

Our people should stop hateful messages and control the abusive language used throughout several media outlets. We need to embrace peace in our various communities and confront politicians who want to make material gains on expense of the communities.

No matter how bad you hate Nuer, Dinka, Shilluk, Maban, Ma’di, Moru, Zande etc, the aim is to tarnish our image as a country and it is to nobody’s benefit. It was written in the Bible that speaks the truth that tell the truth and the truth shall set you free. We must be truthful to ourselves, irrespective of tribe, gender or objective, for the sake of unity.

Tell the wrong things done by Nuer, tell the wrong things done by Dinka, tell the wrong things done by Murle, Moru, Ma’di or Shilluk in a constructive manner. Using abusive language will not add anything to you but instead will drag our country behind. I know that people shy not to speak the truth in criticizing their own communities, and if we submit to the tribal bandwagons driven by the greedy politicians, our poor people will continues to starve and the flame our country will take longer period of time to die down.

Let’s be brave enough to be truthful, don’t provoke someone’s peace because of hate, let’s pray for peace to return to our country. Peace be up on all of you!

Keat, the Media War is a reactions, it is a consequences of the evil acts of Kiir. To tell people not to do media war is to tell victims not to cry!! I hope you are not doing Kiirs a favor. Kiir tell people to now speak peace, what he is really saying is he has set things to Jiengs benefit and don’t rock the boat. Peace must first come through actions not words! To silence those who are hurting is to fulfill Kiirs dreams and cement his evil actions.

As long he continue to ignore the will of the people, Media wars must remain alive! Don’t silence people, this is the only we are left with! Genocides have been committed and no one has been brought to books, lands are grabbed and it has not been returned to the rightful owners! THERE IS NO PEACE WITHOUT JUSTICE.

Keat, it is clear our country will never be the same again because Mr kiir he initiated the hogwash coup and now is acting irresponsible by bringing what was dubbed Jieng council who representing only jiengs affairs in the country with 60 tribes, but if we could say is absurd, it does not fit for that description because the things which are happening in the south Sudan day by day are beyond tribalism even Arabs did not do the things kiir did to people of South Sudan. Now the question how are gone to stop this crazy guy. I think the world will not do anything about South Sudan as long as it located in Africa.

Kiir Kuethpiny and Jieng Council of Elders has failed our country, there for we must talk on media. But i agree with you Keat. Being reasonable in telling truth is more useful then pure insult which will hurt you supporters. We want them to change and we want world to understand the truth hidden and hijacked by Jaang since 1983 to date.

Killing innocents benefit nobody. It benefits Keat Bayak, Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dinka tribe. Individuals who are in favour of Salva Kiir’s harsh behaviour see the killing of innocents as a joke, thus it wouldn’t surprise others to see Keat Bayak writing a message like this. If someone killed your entire family you can cry, reacted, say anything and even do a revenge or whatever suits. As we speak, Salva Kiir’s intentional torts left some families with nobody alive on earth-this hurts every concern citizen.
Keat Bayak’s message is laughable and hurts those their loved ones were killed by Salva Kiir and his tribal men. Stopping media writers who are trying to express their concerns won’t stop killing of innocents. For peace to come to South Sudan Keat Bayak has to first stop Salva Kiir and his tribal men’s evil deeds/killing of innocents. Salva Kiir is not killing innocents alone but together with his tribal men, thus it wouldn’t be a problem to mention them. Without his tribal men involvement, Salva Kiir wouldn’t keep killing innocents up to now. Dinka have enacted a manifesto to kill everyone in South Sudan. Anyway, I will stop here as Mr. Kaluma Madigo said it all.

Challenger, or what ever you called yourself, I think you have not analyzed and digest what I mean on the post. I’m not denying and fact on the current South Sudan situation but urging to tell the truth. I have mention very well on the post, the problem is on the Jieng Council of Elders who are only looking into one side of coin without considering the entire nation of South Sudan. I’m not stopping any one from writing but try to urge if we can start writing things that can promote peace. Challenger, don’t misquote me please.

Mr. Keyat Bayak,

please note not that the sons and daughters of South Sudan who love freedom, democracy and peace are still on the edge of the mountain, we must reach to the top of the mountain before we listen to your advise and first we must know who you are. You sound like a double dealer. The present case of our country is very clear. It is a clear war between the liars or jenge and we who love freedom for all. So mr. Keyat, do not place yourself in the middle. I think you are a man, please make a true man’s choice.

In your article you mentioned that let us tell the other tribes their mistakes in a right manner. What have the other tribes done? Tribes like Nuer, Ma’di, Azande, Pojulu or Bari, Shilluk, please tell me the sins of these tribes? Are Nuer become sinners because dinka killed them in Juba? Are Ma’di become guilty because dinka grabbed their ancestral land? Are Azande become criminals because dinka killed them and rapped their women? Are Pojulu of Woduruba become sinners because dinka killed them?

Please let every body who defend dinka try to go down to his/her knees to ask God how can a government take lives of 25000 citizens in just few days? How can a president decide to create an army to kill other citzens just because they belong to the other tribe?

We need changes and changes can not come by itself. We must work for it, this is why we have to point our finger to the source of the problem and every body knows that the source of all this mess is the dinka. so we must preach to them the good news until they change, if they do not, then let them go back to North Sudan.

I have already told beek, tolio and amen about their lives in the hands of arabs. We will send them back. beek, amen and tolio have to know that another 78 strong SPLA/M-IO arrived Juba this evening. And the G10 has added their voice not to recognise the 28 looting states of dinka. THIS COUNTRY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. Come on pleace, let us work together to stop this killing machine in our country

tolio where are you, are you still prepared to carry another massacre in Juba? No way for you, Festus Mogae is watching you, be careful

Hi Dingit,

Bro, I think you have misquoted my post. I’m not stopping people from writing their feelings or what ever one things is right. And when I talk of telling the truth, I was only citing examples for mentioning some tribes. I mentioned very clear on the post that, the problem was from the Jieng Council of Elders who are only looking one side and play only individuals. And if there could be South Sudan Council of Elders, the current crisis could have been under control because all tribes will be represented.

I think if you analyzed keenly what I mean in in the post, you will understand what I mean.

beek,

put in your cow mind that WE WILL CONTINUE HATING YOU AND YOUR TRIBE as long as you continue grabbing the Greater Equatorian ancestral land, killing our people, looting the public money, dividing our land into 28 states in order to easy the implentation of your evil rule, planning to wipe away some tribes in this country. I read your comment, you are already crying that all tribes hate you in this country. It is not yet poor beek. The ghosts of our people you killed soon will come to you and to your coming generations. We know very well that you will not lead a happy life in this world. You must repent though it will not help you leaders go to prison.
