April 27, 2017 (Nyamilepedia) —— President Salva Kiir has issued a Presidential Order reconstituting a steering committee for national dialogue. According to the Republican Order seen by Nyamilepedia news desk, the new committee for the national dialogue consists of the Leadership (6 members), Members (88 members), External Members (9 members) and Secretariat (6 members). President surprised the nation by appointing Rebecca Nyadeng Garang, wife to late John Garang, who is seen vocal against Kiir’s leadership and members of G-10, a political group comprised of Political Leaders who were detained in Juba when the ongoing war broke out in 2013.
Kiir’s motive to include Nyadeng to his committee for national dialogue is not known but it has been rumored that Kiir is reaching out to her using secret consultations in a move to win her back. Mrs. Rebecca was seen in a meeting held in Uganda where President Museveni called the members of G-10 and other political leaders to discuss aa”unified opposition” but Dr. Riek Machar, the leader o the largest armed group in South Sudan was not invited to Kampala Talks. Rebecca Garang has yet to respond whether to accept to work with President Kiir in non-inclusive national dialogue or she will decline the appointment.
Among those appointed to lead the External Committee in the national dialogue include from Kenya Gen. Lazarus Sumbeiyo, Bethwel Kiplagat and Rev. Sam Kobia, and unnamed representatives from Uganda, Sudan, Rwanda, DRC, Ethiopia and South Africa. The newly appointed to the leadership level of the committee for national dialogue include Justice Abel Alier Wal kwai, Hon. Bona Malual Madut, Dr. Francis Mading Deng, Hon. Gabriel Yoal Dok, Hon. Angelo Beda Bangboru.
