China sends 12th batch of peacekeeping force to South Sudan

On March 19, 2014(Chinanews) — , the advance team of the 12th batch of Chinese peacekeeping force to South Sudan, a total of 100 soldiers, set off from Xinzheng International Airport to the task area for an eight-month peacekeeping mission.

A total of 286 soldiers will be dispatched for this mission.

They will station at Wau and carry out missions such as building and repairing roads and bridges, constructing water and electricity supply facilities, destroying weapons and providing engineering supports to other peacekeeping forces in that area. Different from the previous missions, this time Chinese peacekeeping force will have two more mission sites, making a total of five.
