Khartoum, Sudan
November 2,2021— Sudan’s deposed Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok said on Monday that his reinstatement could pave the way to a solution in the country but with conditions.
This comes after intervention of neighboring countries and International Community urging the top leaders in Sudan to put their people’s interest first.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the Sudanese information ministry announced Dr. Hamdok is ready to serve again as Prime Minister but said he would accept the appointment once all political detainees are freed from various detention centers.
The overthrown prime minister, an international economist, “insisted on the legitimacy of his government and transitional institutions”, the information ministry said on its Facebook page.
“the release of the cabinet ministers and the full reinstatement of the government could pave the way to a solution,” the ministry said.
According to the statement, Hamdok demanded that the situation in Sudan be returned to what it was before the coup; otherwise, he won’t bother himself to negotiate with the military rulers.
On Monday South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit sent high-level delegation led by Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs Tut Gatluak to advise civilian and military leaders in Sudan to resolve their political wrangle amicably.
Tutkew Gatluak told reporters yesterday that the deposed Prime Minister will accept to work with military leaders like before “because Sudan is their country and no one is above the country”.
