Mar 15th 2018(Nyamilepedia) – The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) extended, on Thursday, the mandate of the U.N. peacekeeping mission in South Sudan until March 15, 2019.
The UN maintains the 17,000 troops there, which includes a regional protection force of up to 4,000 troops and 2,101 international police personnel, the Associated Press reported.
This came hours after the UN Security Council adopted unanimously a US-drafted resolution urging the Council to slap arm embargo on South Sudan should efforts by individuals ( which it did not mention) to undermining regional and international efforts to achieve peace continue.
The council also expressed its intention to consider sanctions “against those who take actions that undermine the peace, stability, and security of South Sudan.”
South Sudan has been at war with itself since December 2013 when a SPLM National Liberation Council meeting turned violence leading to split in the SPLA, South Sudan’s army, in the national capital.
SPLM commanders from different divisions and infantries then defected after Dinka elements from the army massacred Nuer civilians in hundreds in the national capital.

Yes, it is my understanding that what you have decided to participate on will be completed. I do see the picture of your commitment to this issue though there are some obstacles on the way yet a meaningful solution will be made when time is right. The country is completely failed in all its form of structures and people lives are no longer relying on their own leaders. If they can make an adjustment that would be fine and good but I do not see any hope on these particular leaders however, there are some individuals who are quite well able to manage people affair if allowed opportunity to lead. Yes, I wouldn’t be misled by blind guy whose motive is to gain wealth rather than managing people affair well. People problems is my own if you know me well you will agree with my statement.
