Thursday, December 15, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— As we remember our loved ones who passed away because of man-made and tactical hatred between the leadership of our country, I would like to call upon the warring factions to think of bringing peace. War is destructive tool. It’s dangerous and poisonous. Indeed it’s the responsibility of any individual but beyond that, leaders are more responsible to halt war and bring peace with whatever means.

The war that erupted exactly three years ago did not only affect the ordinary citizens but the entire system of the governance. In my capacity as Peace Ambassador, I would like to urge the International Community to engage the parties into roundtable for sustainable peace. Both leaders: Dr. Machar and President Kiir should be involved for sustainable peace to be realized. The parties might not find it easy to negotiate because they are in hotspot in developing destructive strategies to hit each other. But engaging them is needed because the civilians are fleeing and dying in Bar-El-Gazel, Upper Nile and Equatoria regions.

I recognize the effort exerted by both TRIOKA and IGAD to bringing peace but more need to be done to curb the looming catastrophic situation. In this dry season of 2017, the possibility of dangerous risk is looming and this definitely needs a real effort from everybody especially the United Nations and other partners in the peace process. It’s well noted that the world has exhausted in investing in peace due to several disappointments a head of South Sudan’s referendum.

I don’t think that it’s a wise decision for the world powerful nations to see the youngest country – South Sudan losing its fertile generations on their watch. Even in the Bible, Quran and other Holy Books, it’s stated that the Lord can save or saved people because of one single righteous woman or man. I know that we have messed as South Sudanese but our innocent citizens who are driven by leaders with other intentions have not messed. This implies that we want peace and it should happen by any means either.

I appeal to our citizens to start reconciliation and build trust among them although it’s very hard to try. I also want the youth both women and men in diaspora and at home to start local initiatives and avoid hateful speeches on the media. The country is for all of us and we are the best agents of change. I urge the new US Administration to continuing its usual support to make sure that peace is attended by the near future. Our women and children are finished.

Finally, I would like to extend my sincere greetings a head of the New Year of 2017 to all women, children and men in South Sudan and out of South Sudan hoping that things might change. I welcome the 3rd Anniversary of tough and disastrous conflict that killed thousands of innocent citizens all over the country.

With love and peace – anything is possible.

We want peace!

Hope for the best!
