September 28th, 2014 (Nyamilepedia) -According to the Sudan People Liberation in Opposition (SPLM/IO) in Kampala Comrade Paul Opio Both Wityian said on 24th, September 2014, at 7:00am World Health Organization (WHO) National staff was detained at Juba International airport and jailed for over 8 hours without charges.
Mr. David Ruai Kuajien UN personnel was booked for Jonglei state Uror county for Integrated measles and polio vaccination campaign to be conduct in Uror county in rebel control areas. Unfortunately Ruai was held hostage and detained in Juba International airport, all his belongings such as Passport and UN Identity card were confiscated by South Sudan Security agents.
According to Lawyer Opio who is the Representative of the SPLM party Chapter in Kampala says, this is constitutional violation of the citizens’ right. Wityian quotes article 19 (1) which stated that an accused person is presumed to be innocent until his or her guilt is proved according to the law and 19(2) says, any person who is arrested shall be informed, at the time of arrest of the reason for his or her arrest and shall be informed for any charges against him or her but this is not the case with Kiir failed government Lawyer Opio says in an interview with Nyamilepedia Editorial Team on phone.
Lawyer Opio says Security organs are acting contrary to the constitution and the laws of the country; they don’t even respect the National Security Act of South Sudan.
According to the latest reports and reactions on social media, UN personnel who hails from Nuer ethnic group were selected/ identified with their Identity cards and were arrested, this led to a big condemnation of Kiir Government by International community for the grave violations of International Law and the transitional constitution of South Sudan which provides freedom of movement and residence.
Wityian says article 27 (1) says ,every citizen shall have the right to freedom of movement and the liberty to choose his/her residence except for reason of public health and safety.
