August 21th, 2014 (Kampala) -The Sudan People Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) delegation lead by the Deputy Chairperson, General Alfred Ladu Gore, concluded their diplomatic tour in Uganda on Thursday. The delegation arrives in Uganda on Monday from Addis-Ababa and will be going backing within the week.

The tour is an initiative of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) that endorses the Leadership of the Opposition to visit IGAD members states like Uganda, Kenya, Sudan, Djibouti and South Africa.

In a press briefing on Thursday in Kampala General Alfred Ladu Gore said that the Government of the Republic of Uganda has welcomed his delegation in a good mood. Gore describes the reception as a Red carpet.

The deputy chairperson told the media that their meeting with president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has tackled security issues, withdrawal of the Uganda troops from South Sudan and opening of SPLM-IO chapters in Uganda.

Gore affirms that the SPLM/SPLA chairman, Dr. Riek Machar, will appoint a Chapter Chairperson to represent the opposition in the country. He furthered that the SPLM Youth League will also establish an office that will address the needs of the South Sudanese Youth in Uganda.

Gore said Uganda is now a stronghold of the SPLM/SPLA in opposition. He said the “tyranny leader” will not have a say in Uganda any more.

Gore believes that they have “broken the backbone of Salva Kiir” and concludes that the only fix for Salva Kiir is to step down peacefully otherwise he risks being overthrown militarily.

Gore further stated that, he (Gore) and his delegation have reached concrete agreement with the Uganda Authority. He said the twenty thousand (20,000) civilians that were killed in Juba on the 15th, 16th and 17th of December 2013 will call Kiir Mayardit very soon in the Mass graves they were buried in.

He said International Criminal Court (ICC) is waiting for President Kiir  and even if he dies, his bones will be collected to be investigated in the Hague so that no South Sudanese Leader would ever do the same thing again like what Kiir did in Juba last year.

Meanwhile Dr Dhieu Mathok the SPLM in Opposition Chairperson of the External Relations said their coming to Uganda is a blessing to the South Sudanese. He mentions to Nyamilepedia Editorial Team in Uganda that the Humanitarian issues were discussed between Uganda Government and the SPLM delegation. He as well reiterates that the root cause of the conflict was the main issue discussed with the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni.

Dr Mathok at the end calls for peace and reconciliation among the South Sudanese.
