July 23-2014 (Nyamilepedia) The SPLA in Opposition forces under the command of General Gathoth Gatkuoth confirmed full control of Nasir town from the government forces.
According to the statement seen by Nyamilepedia, Ruach Wal Yat the Head Chief General of White Army, and as well the spokesperson for the Upper Nile State rebels faction said, Nasir has been stronghold base for the rebels since 1991 and as well early this year.
Yat continued lamenting that, the forces Loyal to Dr Riek Machar Teny on 22th of July, 2014 have taken the full control of the whole county, where most of the government forces captured and other got killed in huge numbers in the fighting.
The head of the white Army said, after they were attacked in their bases they repulsed back the attackers from the government forces and eventually lead to the flashed out of the forces of government of South Sudan with their allies from the town.
Yat said heavy Machine Guns and many soldiers from government forces were captured and others run to United Nation Mission in South Sudan (UNIMISS) Compound for protection as Civilians.
Nasir is a town in Upper Nile state, in the Greater Upper Nile region of northeastern South Sudan.
The town is on the north side of the Sobat River, about 30 kilometers from the Ethiopian border.
