June 3, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– Armed youths from Pibor area, instantaneously, attacked Pieri and Uror Counties of Bieh State on 31st May 2016, and raided over 13,000 herds of cattle.
This came after series of major attacks were conducted by the same group of armed youths targeted on Lou Nuer civilians at Buong and Yitdit of greater Akobo on 03rd and 7th May 2016, Tiam and Pamach of Uror County on 14th and 17th of the same month, beside minor attacks along the major routes.
These attacks against Lou Nuer violates the peace agreement locally initiated in November 2013 by the two communities and may possibly lead to renewal of inter-tribal conflict circle that characterised Lou Nuer and Murle relation for better of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) era.

These renewed acts of aggression are clear signs that things may soon fall apart but require Murle leaders to act fast and steadily in curtailing the ongoing provocative behaviours.
While the leadership of Bieh State is still committed to peaceful coexistent with the neighbouring communities, I call on the Greater Pibor leaders to critically analyse the current developments and rise above the challenges that are now threatening the stability of the region.
Koang Rambang Chol is a Deputy Governor of Bieh State under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny, the First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan.
