August 23, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s armed opposition leader, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, the displaced First Vice President has arrived in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
According to Sudanese officials including the Sudanese First Vice President, Bakri Hassan Saleh, and government spokesman, Ahmed Bilal, the armed Opposition leader, Dr. Riek Machar, has been received by the Sudanese government at the same time when Kiir’s delegation was also visiting Khartoum.
Earlier this month, Khartoum refused a request by regional leaders to re-negotiate the two South Sudan’s factions to respect Permanent Ceaserefire arrangement in their country.

It is unclear if Machar’s arrival has political interest but Khartoum has said to have received Machar’s on medical grounds.
To reduce tension, just a few hours after new security arrangements were signed by Khartoum and Juba, the Sudanese officials acknowledged that they received Machar on “humanitarian ground” but he will continue to stay until he decides to leave, a narrative that Kiir’s administration is not willing to entertain.
“Sudan has received Riek Machar on humanitarian grounds and so he can have medical treatment,” Sudanese government spokesman, Ahmed Bilal said in a statement.
Although it is not clear when Dr. Machar arrived in Khartoum, the First Vice President of Sudan briefed Machar’s rivals, the South Sudan First Vice President, that he is now stable but he will continue to stay.
“He is now stable. He will continue to stay in the country until he decides when to leave,” Bilal said, without providing further details on the treatment.
Responding in Juba, South Sudan’s Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Broadcasting, Hon. Akol Paul Kordit, calls on Khartoum government not to allow Dr. Riek Machar to carry out political activities that are likely to undermine peace implementation that is likely to sideline Machar.
“We have actually been informed officially by the government of Sudan, his Excellency Taban Deng Gai, has been informed by His Excellency Bakri Hassan Saleh, the Sudanese First Vice President about Riek’s presence in Khartoum” Akol Paul Kordit said on SSTV.
Although Taban’s visit was aimed to disconnect relations between Machar and Khartoum, following accusations that Sudanese’ government supports the opposition, his arrival in Khartoum casts more doubts on what the visit has achieved.
Akol calls on Dr. Riek to distant himself from political activities that may undermine peace implementations in the country.
“Dr. Riek Machar must distance himself from all activities that are likely to undermine the implementation of the peace agreement” Akol said.
He urged Khartoum, IGAD countries and the whole region not to support Machar or allow the opposition to carry out activities that may undermine stability in South Sudan.
“We are appealing to our neighbors, the IGAD countries, t the East African countries and to the entire region that Dr. Riek Machar, during his treatment or after his treatment should not be given a conducive environment that is likely to undermine stability in South Sudan or undermine implementation of the peace agreement” he continued.
The armed Opposition, SPLM/SPLA, has active consulates in all countries in the region and Machar is expected to brief the media and SPLM/SPLA-IO in Khartoum before he proceeds to other countries in the region.
Machar was militarily forced out of Juba and promptly replaced with Taban Deng Gai in mid-July amid allegations that all officials lost contacts with him and feared dead, however, his whereabout was better known when he arrived in Kinshasa, DRC on August 18.
For the last 5 days, Machar was barred from addressing the media by his senior officials to allow him to fully recover from 40 days exhaustion in the bush before he resumes his activities.
“After 40 days of walking on foot in the bushes (wilderness) for hundreds of kilometers, it is obvious that “any one”, even a young person, can get exhausted and would need care and plenty of rest for days before resuming his or her duty” Said his spokesman, James Gatdet Dak.
The opposition commends the Sudanese government for receiving Dr. Machar, the “legitimate” First Vice President of the Transitional Government of National Unity that is now struggling to survive.
“Yes, H.E. Dr. Riek Machar is in Khartoum. He has regained strength after exhaustion and swollen leg. We thank Sudanese government for care.” Dak said.

Survival of Dr. Machar is a nightmare to Juba officials and to make matters worst, Machar the main August Peace Partner who has been violently push out of Juba is welcomed by Sudan on humanitarian grounds to seek treatment in Sudan. Sorry for Juba’s luck. Juba should be careful on how it plays its cards against Sudan because it is technically at Khartoum’s mercy regarding many intra-political interests.
What one expected from North Sudan who denied itself, but still interested in South resoucres.
A declaration of War against North Sudan if Riek attempted to use Territtory to attack South Sudan.
They still adored Machar Riek with his stupid 40 days. Spirituality is earmark for him, unless Hacking and Hacking itself had kicked him out.
Look the so call Akol is still thinking about the stability of south Sudan and the implementation of their dead agreement. why do pushed out Dr. Riek, while he is man who is working for the really peace agreement. you pushing him out in order to steal the money for the so call diplomatic mission. This guy should apply for REFUGEE status. HE AIN’T Relevant no more.
(Ex General) now Corpral Taban, praised the efforts of Kiir to safely get Dr Mahar back to his compound after the fighting at J1. But Taban has not yet explained why attack helicopters and tanks destroyed not only The Vice Presidents accommodation but also the entire IO camp. Taban doesn’t seem sad that many IO soldiers were killed in the process.
In war, everything is apparently allowed, his is why government relentlessly tried to hunt and kill Machar. They failed, now they will face the result of their horrible behavior. Preaching peace whilst at the same time killing people.
The Juba mob are worried now, and they should be.
Hahahahahha, do you really know the meaning of the Word adore? If you still hate Dr. Machar, find a near by tomato tree and hang yourself. Otherwise no body listens to you and Your jenge Council of idiots. the international force is already on the way and this will be followed by the coming of Riak to Juba.
