July 18, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— In the development of on-going security situation in South Sudanese capital Juba, where more than 300 people lost their lives and at least 50, 000 civilians are internally displaced, the council of Nuer community in The Kingdom of The Netherlands do hereby send condolences to and share sympathy with the bereaved families, friends and people of South Sudan, who have lost their loved ones in the after-myth that lasted for four days. We in the West; especially in Europe, are saddened, terrified, vilified and left in grieve by the unbelievable and befell violence, which had erupted on 8.July 2016, Friday evening at the vicinity of presidential palace after a peace agreement was signed by the warring parties to end the destructive war in our country.
With tears, we condemned in the strongest terms possible this barbaric violence against peace and against innocent people and call up on the entire international community; UN, EU, AU, Members of IGAD countries who had brokered the peace agreement, human rights organisations across the world to step in, mediate between the two rival leaders in order peace and stability can be restored and to save the IGAD negotiated peace agreement on resolution of the conflict in South Sudan(ARCSS) from COLLAPSING. And We also call on international community to conduct a detailed investigation to what have might instigated this unprecedented violence. It’s worth mentioning that, there were series of incidences, which have precedented the Friday heavy fighting outside and/ or inside the presidency;
- On 26 June, a vehicle carrying the bodyguards of first vice president, Dr. Riek Machar was attacked and shot at by National security loyal to president Salva Kiir with knowledge and later on the intruders confessed to have afflicted undesired situation.
- On July 2016, an military intelligence(MI) officer of SPLA-IO, L.T Col. Gorge Alexander Gisamalla was surprisingly shot dead in Kator neighbourhood in Juba by SPLA‘S MI patrol team loyal to president Salva Kiir Mayardit and his body was confiscated and taken to SPLA military hospital; a prove of an intended murder of their partner of peace deal.
Not longer, on the same day, a junior officer of SPLA-IO of the same unit (MI), Domach Piniey was kidnapped, killed and thrown onto the street in Jebel Kujur residential area_____only to be found dead after two days of disappearance. We strongly condemned all these series of incidences and all those involved should be held accountable.
- On 7 July 2016, an SPLA- IO team, who was returning back from the office of first vice president, where the soldiers took food ration to their colleagues who at the time guarding the office of vice president was attacked by SPLA military intelligence, resulting into clashes; killing 5 soldiers from president Salva Kiir Mayardit’s side.
Therefore, we are asking all independent investigators to take all these incidences into account in order to established the cause of intransigence by the other side to the conflict, which have resulted into deadly violence in Juba.
We as members of Nuer community in The Kingdom of The Netherlands , are calling up on leaders of South Sudan; president Salva Kiir and the first vice president, Dr. Riek Machar Teny to cease means of violence and respect, spare and value the lives of our people, who are currently bearing the brunt of brutality and cruelty of lawlessness in our nation.
The council of Nuer Community in The Netherlands call up on all the humanitarian assistance; aid organisations to go and fill up the gap of dire humanitarian situation in South Sudan, especially in the capital Juba, where tens of thousands are displaced into UN compounds, churches, and other sanctuary sites. All civilians belongings, markets, and anything at hands are looted by armed-men, leaving the humanitarian situation indescribable. It is a human catastrophe in greater line and this needs all friends of people of South Sudan and well wishers across the world to intervene to save the lives of innocent children, women, elderly people and vulnerable, who are trapped in the middle of gun fire and brutality.
