July 25, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —- The SPLM/A IO coordination office in Nairobi, Kenya would like to inform all the members, supporters and friends all over the world that, we have closely been monitoring the illegal activities being conspired by a few selfish-job seekers and opportunists in Juba after their joint attempt to assassinate our chairman and first vice president Dr. Riek Machar had miserably failed.
We therefore want to make our position clear that we reject imposition of former Mining mister, Taban Deng Gai as first vice president and the head of the party in Juba. Gen. Taban is not only incapable of leading such national movement, he has also shown that he is not a man who can be trusted with leadership as he has clearly tried to make a coup on Machar which has so far failed.
We noted, his claims that he is endorsed by the opposition leadership in Juba is merely a joke since the quorum did not even meet the threshold, let alone having intimidated and coerced our true leaders to do so through his new friends the Jieng council of elders.
The coordination office, however appeals to all our members, supporters and sympathizers at home and worldwide to not get disturbed by activities of former mining minister as it is a normal political development and Taban has all the rights to join the other side led by Jieng council of Elders if he feels so.
We know the intention of his deceivers is to divide the movement and Nuer in particular, a move which will certainly backfire as Nuer will never be divided again, I want to tell JCE and their chief to take a lesson from Gen. Peter Gatdet, Gathoth Gatkuoth amongst others who are far more popular than Taban himself. Did they do anything in dividing the Nuer populace?
We also appeal to international community, Troika, African Union and IGAD to urgently rescue the situation in South Sudan or else opposition troops be allowed to go to Juba and give protection to our chairman and the first vice president Dr. Riek Machar.
The peace guarantors must also not let this peace fail and should ensure that the recent illegal decree by Salva Kiir is revoked. Security arrangement be re-evaluated and in case the regional troops are not coming soon, then let the number of troops belonging to opposition equivalent to those of JCE be allowed to come to Juba with all their heavy weapons.
It is time South Sudanese from all walks of life rise up and ensure this genocidal regime be uprooted and defeated once and for all, should they destroy this peace. We must not allow more suffering in our country, we must stop the killings on tribal bases, we must fight for the equity of all the citizens in our republic, rise up South Sudanese.
