“Thou shall not judge, so you would not be judged for the measures you give will be equal to the measures that you will receive”.
By Professor/Ambassador David de Chand
Jan 18, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– To begin with, this is my New Year Declaration to silent anyone that had the presumption or the notion that Professor de Chand has not been, is now and will not be an I-O. Well, to all those critics both constructive and destructive alike that had such a naïveté notion, I would like them to split out because I am what I am an original I-O that I can translate into three languages or more that “E haan diel I-O (Nuer), I am I-O original (Eng.), Ich bin I-O original (German) and Je Sui I-O originale (French) and in Arabic hana I-O al-assilli.” So what am I and what are we? We are all together in unionism original I-O members without any exceptionalism. To all I-O members, one thing that we should all know and to be aware of has been that I-O; it’s not an absolutely Dr. Riek Machar and his closed family entity, but one and for all.
[ad name=”Google Ads 03″]
We should speak freely and criticize the leadership freely and constructively without fear or prejudice that is the universal true value of democracy vs. the dictatorship that goes contrary to the preceded said values. It’s good to have your say in I-O organization because we are democrats and not dictators. This statement has been what many of you urge and appeal me to make a “Declaration” that I would be obliged to do and the I may be compelled to term as an “reaffirmation” and “reconfirmation” rather than being perceived as a newly recruit on my status as an I-O original before Dr. Machar’s was sucked, fired and escaped assassination in the mid-December 2013 and again on Friday, 8 July 2016, I was already an I-O for the duration of his tenure as the FVP in Juba and until now. I guess, based on this statement of “Declaration” or intent, I am sure now that sky would be clear and everything would be laid down to rest and as such we should begin work and focus on the war efforts.
There should be division of labor because I would like the generals to tell Dr. Machar that they do need X, Y and Z ‘Kuak ti ba tier na khor’ (tools to fight the war). There should be nothing to fear, but fear itself and leaders are neither loved nor feared for they should they be told the truth, the whole truth, do nothing, but the truth and so help us God. Leaders are humans and they do go wrong once they have been intoxicated with power, money and control of the destiny of others. We should all be mindful of this political reality as long as we have states vs. cephalous or stateless, egalitarian and communal states or opened advanced traditional democracies and traditional kingdoms in Africa, Afro-Asia and Latin America. These are all systems in comparative politics in the world that’s around us all.
Surely and authentically, I would like state openly and democratically that, I have been, I am now and will continue to be the original I-O and the rest of my colleagues who have endured so much. I could not be more than pleased and honored that everybody that went to Juba experienced everything that I was against and written about them would happen and they all really did happen. I do thank God for giving me this fruitful insight strategic thinking, and a sense of wisdom, logical, analytical reasoning and reasonableness, rapprochement Modus Operandi and Modus Vivendi to foretell the futuristic issues and possible solutions on how to concretely analyze them accurately, effectively and efficiently. I feel that that has been an exceptional gift and blessing from God and that I could not be more than grateful to my God and my creator.
For all those who have pre-assumed and negatively preconceived assumptions that I am not an I-O, I would like to let them to know to date and to underscore that I have been, continued to be and will be an I-O until the end of the knot against Salva Kiir’s criminal, dictatorial and genocidal regime. I have been in Opposition with many colleagues for years retrospect to the split more than anyone that now considering himself or herself as an I-O. I have not been to Juba to join the GOSS. I do not even know the color of South Sudan currency. I do see them only in the book pictures and noticed the bloody mistake in South Sudanese Pound that has been now devalued and declared by some countries, traders as non-legal tender because it’s useless, valueless and faces more 800% inflationary rates annually and ranks the sixth in Africa in that category. We cannot survive without democratic change in Juba because the world kicks us out as less serious and useless folks. Thus, the creation of thirty-six (36) states in an area that a third of the old Sudan land mass (1m Sq. miles) has been really outrageous and fits the analogy that the world will takes us less serious in our conception of the ‘state’ as the Very important personality [VIP] in international and in international geopolitics.
As a political economist, it was for the first time that I have seen the minister of finance and economic national planning a political post signed the currency or the banknotes. This is something usual and strange that could not happen anywhere on the planet except in ward state like South Sudan that is indicative of our extreme backwardness and the lack of distinctions, job descriptions and the delegation of authority. This is what I could term as science of stupid. I do know only the Governor of the Central of Bank South Sudan (CBSS) could sign on the South Sudan Pound or the banknotes in that capacity as a civil servant and professional, but not by a political appointee like the minister that could be fired at any moment on short notice could not dare to sign the banknotes. For instance, if we had a real system with experts involved, such a development could have been control and all the currency or banknotes by the former minister Deng Athor Bay, should have been declared as non-legal tender and should be predestined for total destruction as cacogenic to the economy. Was this a new emerging system outside jurisdiction of the existing international systems? Surely, when we allow such mistakes to occur, it shows that we are like blind men and virtually corrupt political idiots that we do not deserve at all. Further, there are no coins of 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50 and 100 pounds…. This is unusual if not science of stupid and adhocracy.
PEACE VS. BLITZKRIEG
Actually, when peace returns whenever that bloody long blitzkrieg ends, the South Sudanese Pound would have to undergo totally and completely to be devalued and discarded and a new South Sudanese Pound would be introduced. The head of the late Dr. John Garang would be removed because he was a killer bee hives and a murderer that did not deserve such a high national honor. I would have no doubt that the same fate of the late John Garang could haunt the concurrent Dinka dictator Salva Kiir in the future. If we could consider ourselves as democrats, we should not award and reward dictators, but we should disgrace them for the things that they have done, which they ought not to have done. The two guys have been born killers who do not deserve any national honor. We could recommend in advance that the body of the late John Garang be exhumed and to be transferred to his native soil in Kongnor for proper permanent burial. He did not deserve to be buried in Juba at all because it’s not his birthplace and his soul would not rest in peace. Therefore, he [John Garang] must and ought to be exhumed and returned to Kongnor where he was born as the rightful place for his interment. We would make sure that justice would be done in this regard. In short, appropriate programs of de-Garanization and de-Kiirization processes would also occur in the future. South Sudan cannot afford and will not afford to honor brutal child and woman killers and those that have committed genocide against their own people. We should be democratic rather being illiberal in doing the right thing for the interest of the state. Neither the late Garang nor Salva Kiir nor Dr. Riek Machar have been good revolutionaries compared to Fidel Castro, George Washington, Ahmed Ben Bella, Ho Chi Minh, Nelson Mandela, M. K. Gandhi, including other African and Asian revolutionaries.
They [Dr. John Garang, Dr. Riek Machar, Taban Deng Gai, Wani Iqqa and Salva Kiir] represent the prophets of dooms and deserve nothing of great significant in the state’s honor except shame on them and the dirty legacy that they would leave with their respective and collective communities. Unless the Dinka change their negative ultraconservative attitudes, negative sophisticated self-pride for nothing and arrogance, the future looks bleak for them throughout South Sudan. They have been protected by Dr. Machar’s for years and whenever he [Dr. Machar] goes away from the political theater and an aggressive new Nuer leader comes in to replace Dr. Machar, and rides on the horse back, the driver seat or the front seat of the car, things would not be the same as Dr. Machar’s restrained the Nuer people not to hurt and to humiliate the Dinka tribesmen. Now, that the Dinka leaders have targeted, sought and pre-determined to kill their protector [Dr. Riek Machar] because he wanted to become, the President that he so much deserves by any means more than the concurrent goony, child and woman killer Salva Kiir. What kind of logical thinking and logic has been for that? Surely, this war will be over and Salva Kiir will fall like the Arab leaders ousted by the uprising of Arab Spring or Arab Streets of the long terms pro-Western supported dictators in the North African nations of Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt.
PLEDGED OF ALLGIANCE TO I-O
Today is 31st December 2015 that I do hereby declare and affirmatively reaffirmed my allegiance to the I-O before the end of the year and we will enter into the New Year 2017 to bring us new anticipations, hopes and prosperity, knowledge, new ideas and new thinking and neo-thinking for the war effort and the future. For those individuals who have had the falsehood assumptions that Professor de Chand is not a member of I-O, I will tell you all, verily and verily, they are kidding themselves and to discard such a wishful thinking and neo-thinking. If there would be anyone amongst us that would reject me as an I-O member, let them come out openly or to remain in the closets like homosexuals, thieves and criminals of the third kind such that I could beat it and never ever to return jack. As an intelligentsia intellectual with a strong constituency in the I-O that is doing the fighting and the dying, I would not hesitate to pose many challenges to anyone that would reject my reaffirmation of being an I-O such that I could think of framing a neo-I-O within the existing I-O, but never ever to be compared to that of Dr. Lam Akol Ajawien, the late General Gabriel and the late Colonel Johannes Okuich who were really in disguised SPLA-IG misled by Taban Deng Gai [alas Mohamed Hassan El-Hagg) for the sake of power, money, control and a man whose political ambition has been money laundering, Narcotic trafficking, corruption, power and control of the destiny of others against their free will and consent.
As a Nuer Aristocrat (Diel Nathdial ka Rami mi raan) I could not ever divide the Nuer nation for such positions. I believe that the Nuer comes first and supersede such positions. I have a profession that I could do benefits to the Nuer people-that’s establishing institutions of higher education, hospitals and clean drinking waters projects, agricultural and veterinary development for self-reliance, self sufficiency and food security of different kinds of initiatives to create a new generation of the future and the present. This was what I wanted to do when I returned from America as an academic. Nevertheless, such a golden opportunity was denied by the current dictatorial government with the support of idiots like John Luke Joak, Pagan Amoun and many other pseudo-nationalists that have no disappeared for good, withered away and would not rise again. My programs remained intact and the time is nearer, closer or at the corner for their implementation.
Basically, through corruption, Taban is currently a pretty rich person with big money in Dubai, three Cessna Aircrafts in Nairobi, Kenya, skyscrapers, buses on line and steel investments in Sudan with the ambition to dismantle completely and totally I-O existence anywhere in South Sudan. The raw between Taban and his in-law Dr. Riek Machar was that he was not appointed minister of oil to steal the oil revenues like they had as a family squandered more than $200m from the People’s China (PRC) and many of Dr. Machar’s closed relatives have been accommodated in hotels in Khartoum, Nairobi, Kenya, and purchased new big mansions and bungalows in Nairobi, Kenya, Kampala, Uganda, including Taban, Costello Garang that have purchased bungalows whilst the soldiers go without food, medicine for the wounded and many of them have died of gangrene due to lack of medicine and the necessary materiel or tools to get the job done. So we have already implanted corruption within the I-O before it could take over power because its leader is weak and lacks transparency and accountability.
As anti-corruption person, I cannot tolerate this sin or evil any longer within the I-O and we could recommend that Dr. Machar and his staff mostly his closed relatives and cohorts be investigated on corruption within the Movement. This crime could not happen and to be tolerated within I-O that is now closer and nearer to topple, to chew, and to swallow Taban Deng Gai’s and his colleagues in Juba. We would strengthen now I-O to give it more sharper teeth to bite with like African killer bee hives throughout South Sudan. It needs a collective efforts rather than a one-man’s show. My observation is that Dr. Machar’s illusively believes that he could do it alone and that looks schizophrenically dead end. All revolutions required collective teamwork, collective decision-making and all members of the revolution should embrace a universal principle of leadership, as true as orchestra conductors, army generals, football coaches, and school superintendents as for corporate leaders. The leader of the revolution, of course, should have a vision and organization, to choose a direction, have developed a mental image of a possible and desirable future state of the organization. Does Dr. Machar possess such leadership qualities?
Certainly, the image that I have preconceived which I called a ‘vision,’ may be as vague as a dream or as precise as a goal or mission statement. The most critical point is that a vision articulates a view of realistic, credible, attractive future for the organization, a condition that is better in some important ways than what now exists. A vision is a target that beckons. We have set ourselves to overthrow the criminal, dictatorial, and genocidal regime in Juba compared to when the US President John F. Kennedy set a goal of putting the man on the moon by 1970 or Stanford Weill aimed to make American Express the world’s leading investment banking company in five year, they were focusing attention on worthwhile and attainable achievements. I would like to emphasize that a vision refers to a future state, a condition that does not exist and never existed before. With a vision, the leader [Dr. Machar] provides the all-important bridge from the present to the future of the organization [I-O]. Can he construct effectively and efficiently this bridge?
This could be the year of peace though I am skeptic, pessimist and not optimistic about it. Nevertheless, as a dedicated man of faith, I do pray that Almighty God will bring peace because with God everything is possible and that we the Nuer nation, as the first victims of the mid-December 2013 Juba Genocide—defined as the gravest and the greatest crimes against humanity, we should not have short memories and forgetfulness within all ranks and files against Salva Kiir and its foreign allies. We would have to fight back as hard as we know how against our mortal enemy that we have now clearly identified in South Sudan. I say that any Nuer person that forgets the tragedy that occurred for the first time ever in our contemporary history as a people should be considered as a jack ass or dumb ass. Together, we should all suck it to Salva Kiir and Lucifer’s Taban Deng Gai. We should not forget the past, otherwise we will repeat them. The televangelist Rev. John Hagee warns us all that “Those who fail to remember the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them in the future. History reveals humanity’s triumphs and failures, giving us a compass for the future”.
Based on the preceded quotations, we [the Nuer nation] should not have a short sighted memory capsules to forget the sequential events. If you sit down, chitchat, eat together, play together with a Jieng [Dinka] remember that he is your prima facie enemy and not an ally and less we forget the mid-December 2013 Juba Genocide above and beyond. For those Nuer folks who have opted to remain behind with Kiir’s regime the burden of proof would be on you to liberate yourselves whether you are “Nuer wew” or “Nuer yioni’ or traitors of the Nuer nation or because you have reckoned as to who you are until you make a declaration on reasons that you all of remaining behind with Kiir’s regime that targeted your race for extinction or targeted the Nuer for extermination as a “final solution” in whole or in part. First and foremost of all, I would not term any Nuers that opted to remain in Juba as Nuer wew or Nuer yiouni- a term that that they do ever deserve such sarcasticisms as the main liberators of South Sudan from idiots who do not the history and high ethical standards of the Nuer nation and its resilient people. I do believe that many Nuer who have become disenchanted with the devoid, disorganized, aimless, and visionless and impressions leadership style of Dr. Machar.
Most importantly, the government in Juba does not belong to the Jieng alone, but it belongs to all South Sudanese who have fought and made the biggest sacrifices for freedom and political independence for over two scores and ten year or one-half of a century waging the longest, chronic and the most forgotten armed revolution in Africa. The Nuer have every right to remain in Juba and they will one day when peace and democracy return will return, I have no doubt that a Nuer will become the President of South Sudan by any means necessary. I would like mall my Dinka cousins, uncles, comrades in arms and the so-called Dinka Elders Council (DEC) to jot down this statement for the future and the present. It is not impossible to happen, but it will happen in my lifetime. The Dinka Community should know and underscore that Salva Kiir will not be there for long as an illegitimate president and as such political changes would occur before they know it because no condition is permanent or static. Leaders do come and go like whirl winds and to be replaced through democratic process.
DIALOGUE WITH THE NUER LEADERS IN JUBA
The opposition I-O leadership whether it likes or not should consider everything possible, including ways of means of seeking political Dialogue par cum pare (equal) with the Nuer leaders that have opted to remain in Juba ever since the outbreak of the treacherous tribal warfare or as if a civil war or ethnicities warfare that created a tragic and compound complex political inaction or no action and a pretty serious national reflection of absolute and total failure of the state instruments of governance and abundantly indicative that its leaders have been a prophet of doom and crept into total state of disarrayed for whatsoever raison d’être that they have envisaged for that. I proposed Dialogue and Green Olive leaf with our colleagues and comrades on the other side of the aisle in Juba to facilitate mutual understanding, total harmonization, unity and peace-build and peace-making within our inner-selves or innersoles within our community, thus, paving the path towards complete and intrinsically total Nuer internal unity and our cultural appreciation as a people, race and a nation of nations amongst many nations in South Sudan.
Certainly, I would disagree with anyone that would say today and tomorrow that the I-O belongs to Dr. Machar’s solo and managing it like his own personal plantation. Concurrently, the confussion within the Nuer nation and its resilient people should be apparently attributed to Dr. Machar’s and his cronies aimless, visionless, vicious cycle and disorganized leadership, including the illegal so-called FVP Taban Deng Gai (Alas Mohamed Hassan El-Hagg) that’s being used as a “porter” or as a “utility card” of convenience by Salva Kiir and that nobody would ever recognize him as the FVP in the Nuer nation’s contemporary political history and throughout the world because has been a traitor like Judius Escargot who had betrayed his master’s Jesus, the King of the Jews in the Garden of Gethsemane with only thirty (30) pieces of silver and a whispered to his captors’ ears that the man that he [Judius Escargot) would kiss on the cheek would be Jesus, the King of the Jews. Whether Paul Malong Awan and Taban Deng Gai like it or not, they were responsible for the events that transferred on J1 Grounds on Friday, 8 July 2016, which resulted in so many unnecessary lost of lives for the sake of power, money and control. Actually, the whole strategy was set up to kill both men, viz. Dr. Machar and Salva Kiir at a go and Paul Malong would have assumed the Presidency and Taban to become as the First Vice President and the rest go to hell.
We would emphasize Dialogue because our fruitless, unwanted and failed Nuer leaders like Timothy Tot Chol, Michael Mario Dhour, Gabriel Yoal Dok, Dr. Riek Gai Kok, Kok Raui as the most useless, illiterate and the witchcraft dancer and worshiper to be invited to such a Dialogue to come out in the closets to tell us in persons their true colors and why they did the things that they have done, which they out not to have done. We should be opened to Dialogue with good, bad and/or ugly intentions in order to document their actions for posterity. This is the bottom line. I proposed a Nuer-Nuer Dialogue to iron out our differences peacefully and amicably for the sake of our community’s unity and to wage resistance against the criminal, dictator and genocidal regime in Juba.
My fellow southerners should not sarcastically assume that it is the Nuer community alone that is in disarrayed and having problems alone throughout South Sudan. We urge and appeal to every community to cross self-examine itself before they could pass constructive or destructive judgment on the Nuer Community because they would have no right of judging others. The Bible says, “Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you. For God will judge you in the same way that you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others”. We would like them to spill out what they got in their guts and gusto.
He was the one that betrayed his in-law and ready to kill him on Friday, 8 July 2016 simply to become the FVP in an illegitimate, criminal, dictatorial and genocidal regime in Juba. I do not want to be misunderstood by anyone at all, I proposed that any Dialogue in the foreseeable future if this appeal were to be emulated rapidly and reasonably by the Nuer leaders on both sides of the aisles, the so-called VP Taban Deng Gai should become inclusive, including the Nuer prima facie killer and murderer General Thomas Duoth Guet with so much blood overflowing on hands of so many Nuer people that he had ordered to be murdered in Juba. We would also like to know his motives of murdering the best and the brightest Nuer intelligentsia intellectuals and had already gained the nicknamed as “the Nuer Mao Tze Dong” of the PRC and Joseph Stalin of Soviet Bolshevik October Revolution in 1917.
The word that I wanted to utilize herein is Dialogue across the board with the Nuer folks in Juba. We have got to know about them, their sociopolitical conditions as civil servants and soldiers under Salva Kiir and why they preferred to remain behind after the perpetrated genocide that targeted the Nuer ethnicity for extermination as a “final solution” in whole or in part. We should not ignore them for the decision that they have made because that was individual democratic rights and neither should they be judged because it would be only fair to say candidly that “Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you”. For God will judge you in the way that you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules or measures you apply to others”. I am committed to Dialogue to spill out in the open whatsoever feelings that we have got in our minds, the unity of the Nuer people and the way forward. This is an ethnic thing that no one understands. We have got to do this to forgive ourselves, but not to forget what happened in Juba. It has happened, but the future as I envisage it remains bright for the Nuer nation and its resilient people in South Sudan. I have no doubt that at the end of this war there will be a Nuer President in South Sudan through the democratic process. Nevertheless, it might not be Dr. Riek Machar, but another tough cookie Nuer leader out of many leaders.
Certainly, this change will happen in South no matter what, it will surely happen. So if any Nuers would accept the sarcastic terminology or racial epithet of the so-called “Nuer wew” to stick on them then they would be fools. They should fight back and to create another racial epithet against the Dinka as savages, cannibal-like and remorseful less and un-concsenionable people on the planet. I do know and have been taught Dinka as such are Kuany (slaves) and no matter how far they clam ladder to reach to the pinnacle of power, they would always be Jieng [Dinka] and they do, of course, know their place in South Sudan society. They have no comparison with Rami mi raan (people of the people) (Nath or Naadth). I have no doubt that there are good Nuer leaders on the other side of the aisle. We, in the opposition, we would be ready to engage with them for Dialogue pare cum pare (equal) for the purpose of uniting solidly the Nuer community. We can do this without the shadow of a doubt, that we can do it. So let’s begin strategies for paving the path towards a meaningful Dialogue with our brothers and sister that have remain in Juba to know about them and for them to know about in bushes waging the armed struggle for change in Africa’s youngest state as the way forward within the Nuer Community before we could venture join or to be conjoined by other communities. We should know that “charity begins at home.” It is about time for the Nuer Community to put its act together for a better and a greater future not only in South Sudan, but Africa and the world. Because we are a great people and the most fear by the Jieng, they have attempted to genocide the Nuer ethnicity with purpose of creating fear for our domination, oppression and exploitation in South that we have won with our fresh blood against Khartoum.
In my lifetime, No Dinka will defeat the Nuer, but it’s only a matter of time, they [Dinka] have a bleak future in South Sudan because they have created it for themselves through their own wicked quest for power, money and control that they do not deserve because they are by nature lazy and lack the abilities to work compared to their Nuer counterparts. We can judge this from South Sudan émigré communities in the USA, Europe and Australia, the Nuer émigrés have made tremendous progress compared to the Dinka émigrés who have become homeless, drunkards, detentions and many other bad characteristics that they have shown to many in the world. Academically, the Nuer and other non-Dinka émigrés have made par excellence and advancements in all fields learning endeavors compared to the Dinka folks that have trailed behind the ladders. Many Dinka proclaimed to be PhDs; they are bogus because they bought such degrees in East Africa and beyond.
We would also like to know whether you were traitors of the Nuer nation and its people or not, the Dialectic materialists or because you could not tolerate or coup with and to get along well with Dr. Machar’s impressionist, docile, weak and a ‘vicious cycle’ leadership. It would be for anyone of you to do that and we would surely understand to reconsider your positions of remaining with the enemy when all your folks have been murdered and kill by the regime. Most importantly, for the sake of the money, the enemy has used you to seek and destroy your own kind. This would also be a statement of fact that would require tougher explanation and so many calories, phrases and clauses. Whatsoever revenues that Juba has came from the Nuer oil that belongs to you and not the Jieng (Kuany (slaves). Succinctly, for all those Nuers who have opted to remain with the Jieng idiots, you should remember that you have got plenty of interrogations and investigations to pass through to be fully reaccepted and trusted as a Nuer in the future. So it would be worthy to get the hell out of Juba before it’s too late because the Jieng would kill you when things get tougher and messy in and around Juba town.
As Nuer folks in particular, whether you are on the Juba side or not, yea, should know that you’re an I-O and could be targeted for extermination as a “final solution” in whole or in part. For those Nuer leaders on the other side of aisle and murdered your fellows Nuer folks, you are considered as a lost generation for good because you could be excommunicated from the Nuer Community (NC) because of your bad and fruitless deeds that you have done, which you ought not to have done. Without the shadow of a doubt, that the Dinka Community as savage, cannibal-like and remorseful less community as it is, you could become a dead duck. If you make any attempts to return to the Nuerland, you could be faced the same fate and problems from the families of those that you have killed. For example, General Thomas Duoth Guet, External Intelligence Chief, who killed and murdered so many Nuer intellectuals, should not ever rethink of returning to the Garawaar Nuerland because he has been already identified as public enemy Numero Uno (public enemy No.1) or the enemy and would be haunted down no matter where he goes for hiding he would be searched and destroyed like the Nazis who killed the Jews in Europe during the WWII (1939-1945) and escaped to Latin America, North America, South Africa and Asia. Would the Dinka Community accept him? He’s just one of the Nuer wews (Nuer yioni) and could become a great lost generation like others in different communities.
We should never forget what happened on 16, 17, and 18 December 2013 Juba Genocide. If we should forget the past, we would be bound to repeat it. We must remain vigilante, determined and motivated to fight back against the crime of genocide against our community. For the Nuer nation and its resilient people, we should and ought to make the year 2017 a year of decision- that’s to say, a year of no war and no peace. Nevertheless, peace will not return to South Sudan only through strength, but not in weakness. Therefore, the challenge is now rested on Dr. Riek Machar’s neck to provide the necessary tools to get the job done. Most importantly, internal reforms within the Movement are urgently and immediately needed to occur sooner rather than later. I do appeal to the Generals to think like the Generals to do what they have to do with or without Dr. Machar’s present. They must organize the troops and to do whatsoever they could to lead them to fight against Juba. We cannot wait until Dr. Machar’s returns and no good generals should wait for him to return because as I see it and know it, Dr. Machar’s would not return soon for reasons beyond my control and pretty damaging for the welfare of the Movement. He has been parked or grounded in the Republic of South Africa.
Because I have worked with Dr. Machar for many years in the Movement, he does not have the guts and gusto to tell he generals the truth, the whole truth and nothing, but the truth to the generals to tell them what they have to do. Hence, my hedge and advice to the generals and the Chief of the General Staff Command and his Deputies would be that they should not wait for Dr. Machar’s to return now or never. They should undertake the art of the leadership to lead, to organize and to wage the war against Salva Kiir. As long as Salva Kiir is not tame in the battlefronts he would not seek and concede to peace with the I-O.
It’s great that all the people of South Sudan have join the I-O because they have been genocide, oppressed, dominated and exploited. So we are all I-O whether you like it or not so be it written. Every ethnicity and their leaders should join I-O with their people behind them because at the end of the day if South Sudan remains united and integrated or disunited or disintegrated, we will go for a shared federal system. Really, what united or joined us together has been that we have been all genocide by Salva Kiir’s regime because we are all I-O without ant exceptionalism. We will prevail if we were to unite our ranks and files as men and women with one objective- that’s to overthrow the criminal, ethnocentric, undemocratic, dictatorial and genocidal regime in Juba by any means necessary.
WHO’S AND WHO’S NOT I-O?
First and foremost of all, I have been an I-O and I do not have to make a declaration as some folks demanded me to do so. My guys have been fighting and they have asked me to remain behind to articulate their case to the world that I have successfully have done so. My writings fights are sharper than the AK-47. We are all I-O cadres without any exceptionally regardless of tribe, ethnicity, religion and gender. For instance, let me address the Nuer people to tell them that we all those that left in Sudan and the bushes of South Sudan and never step their feet on Juba twice or more, we are the original I-O cadres who have been in the opposition that Dr. Riek Machar found them in the Opposition when he was the First Vice President and escaped assassination in the mid-December 2013 Juba Genocide.
He could not possibly marginalize or by pass the original I-O cadres. When he [Dr. Machar] was dismissed or sucked or fired by his boss Salva Kiir and escaped assassination in the mid-December 2013 Juba Genocide, it was our regulars and the Nuer White Army (NWA) forces that rescued Dr. Machar, Lucifer’s Taban Deng Gai [alas Mohamed Hassan El-Hagg] and Madam Angelina Machar plus other who later parted ways with Dr. Machar’s and opted to returned to Juba. It was General peter Gatdet Yaak that saved them from being killed or if General Gatdet was not respectful of Dr. Machar as the Sector Commander, he could have easily captured and returned Dr. Machar to Juba to face Salva Kiir’s notorious security. Instead, General Peter Gatdet as the Sector Commander and the opposition and the White Army forces combined rescued Dr. Machar for only one and only reason-that’s he was a Nuer Elder, statesman and could not be returned to the enemy because that would have brought shame to Nuer nation and its people. I was in Sudan where I remained since the split on 9 July 2011 because I foresaw the tragedies ahead for South Sudan.
I wrote articles and book manuscripts on so many things that were ignored and I was termed negatively as a controversial and a crazy Professor with an American arrogance and anti-system in which I have been blacklisted for assassination up to now by the regime because I have been its toughest and staunchest critic. I could not feel good that the system in Juba has crumbled or tumbled down like the Berlin Wall that reunited the two- German states in the late 1990s above and beyond. I wrote that a civil war or as if a treacherous tribal warfare or ethnicities warfare would break out in South Sudan before 2015 and that General Elections scheduled for 2015 would not occur although I was also vying to become a Presidential candidate in my capacity as the Chairman of the South Sudan Democratic Front Party (SSDFP) for the Office of the President were disrupted before that time. Of course, that event was orchestrated by the Obama administration idea and logic that was delivered to Salva Kiir by the US Secretary of State John Kerry as Salva Kiir stated it by his own words in the 2015 BBC interviewed that he held with Stephen Sackur of the BBC Hardtalk. If anybody wishes to hear this statement, I would refer them to the BBC Hardtalk head Stephen Sackur or to go on U-Tube to search for that interview or outside sources.
Like I said, that I have happened to be one of the many folks that are the original I-O before it was hijacked by Dr. Machar and ignored all those that were in opposition before him, this could become a problem. He adopted a policy of surrender to whom and for what that remains a myth to be demythologized. The world should know that I have been the original I-O leader and the reason that I did not make a fuss has duly to preserving the Nuer unity as a people and a nation and for me that remains a top priority. Most importantly, my US education has made me to be humble and to become systematic in whatever I do. The Nuer who are doing the fighting and dying are not from Dr. Machar’s section or the entire Unity State that has remained largely with Juba and has been the main sources of the Nuers’ problems.
Comparatively speaking, the intelligentsia intellectuals and the non-educated in Unity State are no different. They like power, money and control, but they are weak and have mediocre mediocre in spirits and do not know or practice what to do about it and remained to be the most disorganized and naiveté people who could not get along amongst themselves and let alone with other Nuer folks on the east bank of the Nile.
Most importantly, Dr. Machar’s has set and focused himself to become the President of South Sudan and behave like one and as an absolutist in the Movement just like John Garang and Salva Kiir and Dr. Lam Akol Ajawien. In a nutshell, all the students of the late John Garang adopted his wicked political theories, ideology, dictatorial rule and pretty poor and undemocratic mediocre leadership style.
I do hereby declare that I am I-O because of great pressure from my Constituency that is fighting the war. I have nowhere to go without them. I would do anything humanly possible to be with them until the end and would be determined to procure them whatsoever materiel to fight with and to defeat Salva Kiir. I am currently shopping and planning for many things in my mind that I hope to project sooner rather than later. I would like the readers to know that I do not separate the I-O family because they are also my people who have been the victims of the regime in Juba. They are also my people for they have come to join us in the fight against social injustice, domination, oppression and exploitation superimposed against us all by the regime that has to be replaced in Juba with democracy and all its true values. Rest assuredly; I could not say that Dr. Machar will become its leader for reasons that I would be obliged not to jot them henceforth. He would have to earn it through the democratic process. This is the bottom line.
I believe that neither Dr. Machar nor Salva Kiir would fit any longer to rule South Sudan. I would like them to step down and to be taken to the ICC for having committed the crimes of genocide, war crimes and crimes committed against humanity. There would be no peace as long as both Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar remain lingering around adorning and adoring themselves as leaders. They are both fake and pseudo-nationalists and dictators of the third kind.
Affirmatively, I am an I-O member, but I do not support all of Dr. Riek Machar ideas because he not the only I-O to dictate all the ideas governing the Movement, but he hijacked it and marginalized its original opposition members. This is similar to what the late Garang did in 1984 against the late Colonel Samuel Gai Tut abated by the Marxist-Leninist Dirge regime in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia. I am with the people who make up the nucleus of the I-O. The Chief of General Staff Command should begin thinking about changes in the leadership under the tutelage of Dr. Machar that moves in a vicious cycle that could not produce democracy rather than a dictatorship; it calls for radical reforms, including the change of the not name SPLA to a new entity that would have absolutely no bearing to the SPLA at all. E cannot afford to build another monster similar to the SPLM/A in South Sudan.
Conclusively, Dr. Machar needs to have Dialogue par cum pare (equal) with components of the I-O family without any exceptionalism. We hope that Dr. Machar should know and underscore that the days of dictatorship are ever by-gone forever retrospect to the golden days of state shifts called for because of perestroika (restructuring) and glasnost (openness) in the former Soviet Union in the late 1990s as the legacy of President Mikhail Gorbachev and the tumbling down of the Berlin Wall that reunited the two-German states- the highly industrialized West and the developing German Democratic Republic (GDR) under the tutelage of the Soviet Union.
I would like all I-O members that they should not doubt my participation to serve you all when opportunities avail themselves within my portfolio to impart to you all knowledge, wisdom and experience and capabilities. We shall remain united, working as a team in despite of our differences because the revolution needs all of us to work as a united front- that poses a universal principle of leadership, as true as orchestra conductors, army generals, football coaches, and school superintendents as for corporate leaders. We may hate or dislike each other, but the revolution will unite us because it is our objective and the mother of all wars and the mother of all sociopolitical democratic changes. We must and ought to put aside such acute differences for the cause of the revolution and its success that could be a success for all at the end of the day. Dr. Machar’s responsibility is not to become the president, but he should expand his parachute for safe landing in accommodating everyone in the wholesome functioning of the I-O. As I see it, it neither a family affair nor a one man’s show, but it all for all and one for all. This is the bottom line. We should emulate revolutionary ideas from the American Revolution on 4th July1775 led by George Washington who was comprehensive and inclusive and the same applies to the French Revolution or the Bastille Day on 14th July1789. These two revolutions have changed the world and brought along with them the greatest Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution and collective decision-making and colonialism and imperialism or the Europeanization of world.
Lastly, but not least, we the marginalized original I-O members and no one could boot us out of this revolution. We will be in it until the end of the show whenever that is and it will be so. We have got all our legs on the ground and there would be no one to unearth them or chop them down like trees or weeds in the plantation. We have been calmed for the cause of the Nuer unity and all those oppressed that have come to join us in the fight against the superimposed Jiengism and to die together as an Action-Team (A-Team).
We are watching pretty closely every move that Dr. Machar’s undertakes reluctantly with a smile, but we could react if such moves could go off tangent of the frame reference (worldview) of democracy and its universal true values. I would like to rest assured all those that presumably and hypothetically assume that Professor/Ambassador David de Chand is not an I-O, my record alone since I joined Dr. Riek Machar after split of the once invincible Marxist-Leninist SPLM/A split on 28th August 1991 and during my participation in the IGAD in the search for tenable reasonable alternative peaceful and political conflict resolution. I was one of the framers of the IGAD/DOP in 1994 and as one of the negotiators and Drafters of the IGAD Communiqués and resolutions. I believe that I have gained significant experience in the conflict resolution negotiations modalities and security management issues in conjunction with my educational training in international relations, international law, and international Affairs as well as diplomacy. Therefore, no person in South Sudan or in Africa and through could neither to underrate nor to underestimate my professionalism, an academic, diplomatic abilities and capabilities. I have worked with Dr. Machar for years retrospect to 1989 when I was still in the USA as a young Assistant Professor of political science/international relation, international law and international political economy and Government and politics in Africa and the Middle Eastern Studies. In 1994 upon my returned from the US I joined Dr. Machar and we trekked in the bushes together and we both saw and experience hardship, but we endured them for the cause of the liberation or emancipation.
Realistically, I do know well how his [Dr. Machar] perception against anyone that he perceives to be above and beyond his socio-psychology, political sociology, political ideology, political philosophical, methodological, analytical reasoning and reasonableness to be around him. I have realized that if Dr. Machar is afraid of anyone with higher spirit vs. mediocre spirits has got his own method of painting such a talented individual negatively to get away and prefers to work with the least qualified and the mediocre vs. high spirits. This experience has been my sole problem and I had to chew it, to swallow it and to digest it for the sake of the Nuer Community unity. When Dr. Machar was the FVP, he blocked marginalized and other Nuer intelligentsia intellectuals of higher calibers because he wanted only himself to shine in the political limelight as the only enlightened Nuer that was a round. He blocked out so many Nuer Graduates, academics medical professionals with work experience in the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, and the EU countries that South was in greater dare need of them. Nevertheless, when he realized that he would be fired or sucked, he became friendly and came to Khartoum to try to convince me to go to Juba. I rest assured Dr. Machar that I would not go to Juba because of my security reasons and the I am not interested to join a corrupt system I do not the power to bring about change in the existing system.
This has been in summation tantamount to absolute dictatorship of the third kind and the fear of the unknown. Specifically, Dr. Machar and Taban Deng Gai were to be blamed for what happened in Addis-Ababa peace process because they deliberately and willfully blocked out the best and the brightest or la crème de la crème in the peace process. We would not allow this to be repeated because we do want to have a comprehensive and inclusive peace process where everyone would his/her own say. United, we stand, divided, we fall. I could not be more than grateful that I-O has expanded its wings to attract other oppressed, dominated and exploited groups to come to fight SPALA Kiir’s brutal and ruthless regime in Juba for the cause of freedom and social justice, peace and the culture of peace. To be an I-O nobody should become followers of Dr. Machar, per se, but the people in I-O. My last word is that we do need rapid and serious reforms in both the politico-military leadership. We have been moving in a vicious-cycle and we do need to make a breakthrough as the way forward. It looks all powers have been banked on Dr. Machar and he does everything by himself without any questioning motives and intentions. He’s not the smartest guy amongst the Nuer people. He would have to be challenge because we cannot any longer build another tyrant and a dictator of the third kind having experienced such tragedies from Salva Kiir, the late John Garang and Muwalana Abel Alier Kaui and Joseph Lago and the Equatorian intelligentsia intellectuals’ in the secret society designed to deal with all non-Equatorian in Juba otherwise known as the 1983 Kokoro. These lessons have been forgiven, but they will not been forgotten for their memories remain still afresh like lemons and oranges picked up from the orchards.
We must and ought to undergo for REFORMS in order to make I-O to become truly a democratic institution to accommodate everyone and allows criticism of the system freely, free speech without biases or prejudices. We need to have a forum to criticize the leader to tell him what to do and what not do without the consent of the masses. This would reflect collective decision-making, collective governance and the delegation of power and authority. We could not afford any longer to build another dictatorship like the one now hovering over our heads both days and nights. We are now living like slaves in our own country for what?
I am wishing you of all A Happy and Prosperous New Year. We should unite our ranks and files to topple Salva Kiir’s regime by any means necessary in order to install a real democratic change in South Sudan. This wish can be delivered and can do it, and yes, we can and will do it.
God blesses you all (Bi Kuoth yiendial puoth e long).
